Pyramids at Giza

Near Cairo, the modern day capital of Egypt, three giant pyramids stand tall on the Giza plateau. The massive structures have remained intact for more than 4500 years. Their amazing size, architecture, and longevity are impressive. Ambitious kings can be credited for undertaking these extraordinary landmarks. Why did they undertake such a monumental task? How did an ancient culture build these time-tested archetectural wonders of the world?
