Lisa Roehrig grew up in the seventies in rural northern Ontario. Her nomination for a test-pilot English writing class in High School afforded her opportunity to write for the local newspaper and to write several plays, poems, essays and short stories for local publication.
She managed a pet food store where she wrote copy and articles for the store's newsletter. She also wrote much copy for local animal rescue agencies.
Lisa attended Honors Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa where she excelled in her training in essay writing, laboratory reporting, technical editing, and scientific journal writing. Her skills at rewriting technical jargon and producing an interesting read are unsurpassed. This talent is essential when the most interesting stories are usually too technical today for laypeople to get excited about.
A Biochemist degree is not the most usual way that a boisterous woman enters a career as Chef, but Lisa did just that and excelled for ten years writing recipes, designing menu layouts and writing for the websites of the restaurants she worked for. Lisa would be an excellent proofreader or editor of recipes and cook books.
Lisa realized with every new back spasm that commercial cooking was a young man's profession. After a soul inspiring year at her mother's side through her palliative journey, she returned home to the house she grew up in and became devoted to full time writing.
It is evident that writing has stayed with Lisa throughout all her endeavors and that she displays a natural talent that could benefit any employer.
