Writer Biography

I have over twenty years experience in the travel industry and have been writing even longer. I worked for a major travel wholesaler for 15 years, starting as a reservationist and ending in management as a call center supervisor and reservations trainer. My responsibilities included researching destinations and creating training and reservation manuals. I also assisted with producing sales brochures and marketing materials.

The transition to full-time freelance writing came naturally. Early on I was involved in a start-up venture for Fisher’s Travel SOS based in England, writing and editing online and hardcopy travel guides. I also served as the copywriter and editor for EasyRez in Victoria, a reservation service that offers B&B’s, boutique hotels and condos throughout Canada.

In addition to travel related copy, I offer writing and editing services on a variety of subjects including the natural sciences, history and the RV lifestyle. I have articles on USAToday.com, Livestrong.com, Hotels.com and am a guest writer on Bonsai Ireland where I discus the beauty and history of Japanese gardens. I am known for my creative word play, conversational style and quirky sense of humor, used appropriately of course.
