Writer Biography
S. Baer Lederman hails from Rhode Island, but his years at the University of Michigan taught him that he is a Midwesterner at heart. Baer is a keen student of culture and has lived in China, Tajikistan, Israel, and Europe. Since completing his service to the U.S. Navy, Baer has focused on writing. He has produced product reviews, marketing material, blogs, as well as website and social media content for companies from a diverse range of industries including wholesale and packaged foods, publishing, luxury retail, fitness, and education. He is also an experienced salesman and has written instructional material for sales training teams. In addition to copywriting, Baer's fiction has appeared in Dapper Press, Nebo, and Chicago Literati, and he was named a finalist in Slippery Elm’s 2015 Prose Contest, the Scribes Valley 2015 short story contest, and the Providence Journal’s H.P. Lovecraft short story contest. In 2016 Baer was awarded an artist in residence position at the Ucross Foundation in Wyoming, where he worked on his first novel.
