Writer Biography
Mel Rowland is a freelance writer and editor, who creates compelling, well-researched content. Mel's range of writing skills is wide and varied, in that she writes on subjects ranging from criminal justice reform, inter-personal relationships, societal issues, and matters concerning racial discrimination and inequality.
Mel worked as a life skills instructor in a correctional facility where she first became aware of the critical need for criminal justice reform.
She lives in the magnificent Wichita Mountain region of Southwest Oklahoma. Mel visits New York City as often as she can, where she draws energy and inspiration from the creative spirits of her favorite writers, such as Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Dan Wakefield, Truman Capote, and James Baldwin.
She is a graduate of Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.
