First-Person POV in Short Summaries

Post by Ed »

Hi Writers,

Please refrain from including personal information in your short summaries. This section of the submission form is for information about the article itself, not the author's feelings about the subject or the article, her methods of research, her life experiences, or other information that does not describe the article for sale. As always, promotional language is not permitted. This information is irrelevant to the customer.

Relevant information should be presented without the use of the first-person POV.

Instead of writing, "I have included phone numbers for each hotel," write, "Phone numbers are included with each hotel's description."

Instead of writing, "My article is about golfing in the rainforest," write, "This article is about golfing in the rainforest."

Please always follow the guidelines for short summaries, including minimum length and originality requirements, and proofread them thoroughly before submission. Remember - this is the first impression customers have of the article. It may also be the first impression they have of you. Strive to make it count!

Thanks,
Ed
