How long should I wait on a client to complete offer?

I had a client make an offer for full rights on an article about a month ago. I accepted the article, but nothing has happened since. How do I find out what is going on with this article? When will I get paid? Is there a time limit when the client's offer will be withdrawn?

Does the client get a full view of the article when they make an offer? If so, is there a chance that they are using the article without paying? Just wondering, not saying the client is doing this.

Accepting an offer doesn't mean the customer will come back and actually buy it. There is one buyer who makes offers presumably to come back later and have several articles to choose from. I believe there were a few offers on mine from the same buyer but I think one was actually purchased.
