D*rn these pesky AC thieves - more stolen content found

Post by PeggyTee »

Doing a random sweep of my articles and found another stolen article of mine :

"Travelling in an Islamic Country: What to Wear." This was first posted on the 16 of July on CC. The AC thief who stole is Eric Duffy and the link is included below:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/articl ... tml?cat=16

I have left him a standard "This isn't your article so remove it please" message but could Support please ask AC to suspend his account?

He only has two more articles up, one of which I'm pretty sure belongs to one of us:

"The Single Girl's Guide to Spending Money" and
"Pre-Ride Inspection of Your Bicycle"

Thanks!

Found a few more:

"Essential Budget Travel Gadgets" was stolen by one Stephen Frampton. I posted this on 30 July on CC. Link below:

and

"New Workout Trends: An Exercise in Creativity" on ezinearticles by Ryan Robinson. I posted this on 21 Aug 2009 on CC.

That Stephen Frampton has one of beconrad's (Bonnie) articles up there:

Consider the Advantages of Building an in-Law Suite

I try not to be a hater, but it's hard.........

I seriously did a search for AC and Constant Content to see if there is some blog out there suggesting for people from AC to steal CC content. I'm half tempted to go into their forums and see if they have some post for this. This is too ridiculous.

The bulk of the AC writers are good people like us. You won't find anyone on AC's forum advocating something like this. Maybe on some blackhat site, but not there. In fact, many AC writers have their AC work stolen and posted elsewhere, so the writers at AC are experiencing the same thing as we are. It's still annoying though. I wish AC had stronger checks in place but I understand the challenges involved since our articles are theoretically invisible to them.

Perhaps AC & CC could setup a system to cross-reference and scan articles as they are submitted. All would benefit.

I have been a 'victim' of stolen content a lot lately (as per my self-pitying post yesterday). I have been contacting AC directly and copying CC on all correspondence. Here is the link for contacting the AC police. They do remove the content promptly.

I now keep a master e-mail in an online folder and just update and send it with every new theft.

oooh Linda, you rock. It's just such a hassle to post parts of your article every morning into Google. :-/

They're working on something like this. There's another thread about it somewhere.

When two of my articles were stolen and posted on AC, I wrote to both CC and AC support and got quick action and responses from both. I'm glad CC and AC are working together on finding a solution to this problem.
