Ed is..

Not actually an Editor? He does not 'edit', he simply reviews.

Meh. He does tell you what is wrong with your article, but he doesn't change it for you. I get what you're saying, but it's his/her job to police our editing skills more than to edit our work for us.

Ed is an editor in the sense of a magazine editor that rewviews articles and asks the author for rewrites, then approves the article and publishes it. Some magazine editors fix errors and even rewrite pieces but I prefer to rework my own articles. If you like editors that rewrite your articles without even asking you, you'd love DS.

I don't know about you, but I prefer to fix my own errors, too. Sometimes, after re-wording something, I get hit with a bolt of inspiration and end up with a whole new article. If Ed did all the work for me, I wouldn't have the opportunity to improve my work.
