That is too cool. I'd love to know how it turns out.

Give some writers and idea and they just spin it out of control (see the previous posts). All my articles for specific requests just sit unsold, while a little piece on how to use nutritional yeast (of ALL things) sold bang. It is interesting to see what sells, but seeing what sells today may not be indicative of what sells tomorrow. That said, focus on hot topics to make a living. Now if we could just figure out what is hot we will all be rich.

Funny you mention writing for requests. Early on I wrote one for a request that didn't trip his trigger. For some reason, I just wrote another one that probably would have suited him, except there are no requests for this right now, LOL! I can only hope there are others wanting the same type of info.

Tried a bit of a different tactic with the latest article, too. I think it will produce more sales, based on the study of the successful writers here.

Good grief!! Talk about close encounters of the absurd kind ..

Know what you mean about sitting down and producing a monster of an article. Once you get going on something you know well it kinda drives itself to the destination and all you have to do is keep hold of the wheel. It's a funny thing - years ago I used to be a specialist nurse and it took me AGES to learn to write long. I could never get above 800 words for anything without a struggle for such a long time, and even that felt like wringing out a stone to get a splash or two of blood. It was simply because I was so used to writing tight notes, and honing everything down into the minimum words possible without losing the gist. I was doing a degree and the essays were torture for me until I started to get the hang of freeing up.

Now I can can't shut up. LOL! But I'm managing finally to pare things down. What I do now is highlight in yellow the paragraphs / sentences I'm going to lose, or the words I'm going to take out, and then cut and paste all those highlighted bits to a new document and save it as (subject) clippings. Must say, I'd rather have the problem of writing long rather than too short - that was a real struggle to get above 800 - why 800!! Who knows ...
