Newbie here-questions about articles with websites mentioned

Post by Alison Jerabek »

Hi,

I'm brand new to Constant Content, and I have a few questions regarding website addresses in articles. I submitted an article detailing how to utilize free web resources for crafters, and, as the article was about the internet and specific websites (from a reviewer's perspective, not an advertiser's), it was necessary for me to include some website's addresses. Now, that article was rejected due to the addresses, and I was wondering if Constant Content had a different catagory where websites are acceptable in the context of an article. Would it possibly be accepted into the reviews portion of the site? Are there other options? Or are all articles with any reference to a website's address summarily rejected, regardless of the topic?

Thanks in advance. :)

I think the standard is to refrain from specific web addresses if possible. However, at times, there is a need to put in web references. From my experience, the best thing is to put Page.com with no http, and if working in word to un hyperlink it (right click on the link to remove hyperlink).

The reason for the rule is not because C-C doesn't want competition etc., its just that material without links sells better. Most customers here want content THEY can put specific links in so that it can help their business, or website they have affiliations with.

My suggestion would be to edit the article so that it details information crafters can get online ("Popular crochet patterns are a breeze to find online.... blah blah blah) or try resubmitting it under the review section and not as an article.

Other than that, Ed would be the best person to give advice. :)

Hope it helps.

And welcome to C-C, don't worry about the rejection, we all get it from time to time, just make sure you read the writing guidelines. :)

Always Smiling,
Elizabeth

Unless specifically requested by a customer, we never accept articles that contain full web addresses or links. Please see the following documents:
