I am trying to help a friend get started with CC, so I'm asking for him. He sent in his first article for CC and he is using the standard Linux Ubuntu text editor. He got a rejection for characters inserted in the text.
I know we've seen that here for programs like OO, but I'm wondering if anyone using Linux has had these problems and worked through them? I opened it on my computer (Windows), and I'm not seeing them. It's formatted as .txt, so there can't be hotlinks or any weird font issues.
I'm actually thinking the editor might have mistaken his bash commands with the backslashes and tildes as inserted characters, but I'm not sure.
