Different Reasons for Rejection on Resubmissions

It's my first post as I'm new here. My first article went through the editors as clean as a whistle, no problems. With my second article I only had to correct a few things. However, after it had been on the site a few days I decided to change it a little for the Search engine. When I resubmitted it, it kept coming back with rejections, a different one each time. It seems as though the editors were not only looking at the corrections, but were also reviewing the whole article again. Am I correct? One of the editors told me not to use the first person, when the first person appeared nowhere in my article. When I resubmitted it without changing it, it went through. Could someone explain how this happened?
