Sorry for the evil chuckle. I was just feeling it and had to let it out.

This place seems...astounding. Hence, I am wary. They tell you that if something seems too good to be true, it probably isn't true. Is this place the real deal?

I guess what I'm asking...I'm a college student who's been writing most of my life. My writing teachers and professors adore me, but, humble as I am, I like to attribute that to the fact that nobody around me could write their way out of a paper bag. Still, I do have some way with words. If I'm willing to put in a good number of hours a week here, is it likely I'll be successful? Or is this someplace that only a polished pro can thrive?

Welcome! No "pro" experience required--just the ability to craft a compelling article that webmasters would be interested in purchasing. Oh, and a GOOD grasp of spelling and grammar, which you seem to have.

It's not too good to be true. I've been working here since January, and I love it. It's freelance, so there are slow times...I sold one article the first fifteen days of the month, and that was it. (But things have picked up in the past couple of days.) They're upfront about their 35% fee, and they're not kidding when they say that all articles are checked carefully for spelling and grammar errors. (I once had an article rejected because I had, in ONE place, typed "breath" instead of "breathe." You've gotta love that kind of attention to detail! Well, you don't have to, of course. But I do. :-D )

You can be successful here. Look over the "Requested Content" and the "Recently Sold Content" to see "what's hot," then write on any subject you feel qualified to deal with. It may take a while for you to build up enough of an article base that you're selling things regularly, but, yes, you can be successful here. I certainly have been.
