Re: Has CC seen better days?

People don't really come to these forums to chat. They come to post specific questions, and some people come to answer them. But in general, I don't think that people spend very much time reading and writing on the forums. Hopefully they're all too busy writing and selling articles!

Re: Must-Read Resources - New Authors: Start Here

Does no-one read these posts any more? I posted my request above nearly two MONTHS ago but no-one has bothered to help? You'll find that people often miss posts tacked onto much larger threads. You'll have a better response to your questions if you start new threads with clear titles. This isn't re...

Re: Commas Again!

I'm going to be honest here...this is hard for me to break down, because it's hard for me to understand. What is it that you're trying to say, exactly? Break it down into simpler sentences and go from there. I do think that you're misusing your colon here. Unless you have "Combining sustainable...

Re: Fewer boreholes or lesser boreholes?

Or perhaps their kittens are about the same size, but Sue's are of a far lesser quality, personality-wise. Your example made me laugh out loud...love it!

HannahD, don't be embarrassed! We all make mistakes! :)

Re: Fewer boreholes or lesser boreholes?

In your sentence - lesser, not fewer. You can have fewer boreholes, or a lesser number of boreholes, but you can't have a fewer number of boreholes.

Re: Long Summary length

I put the entire article in the long summary. I have had one article scraped (out of over 70 that I've submitted). It was a bad feeling, but luckily the buyer (who was the one who noticed the stolen content when he ran it through a copyright checker) sent me a private request for a rewrite of the sa...

Re: how to access writer pools

I've been in "waiting" status for months, and I know that there are others in the same boat. Honestly, I don't know that new people are being approved right now. Are there actually a lot of jobs to be claimed, or are there many more writers than jobs? Maybe someone who's a member of a writ...

Re: Requested article/word count is a little short

Assuming that it's an article that's already in your catalogue, I would send it, along with a note to the customer. Something along the lines of "I realize that this article is a bit shorter than what you're looking for, but I read your request and thought that it might fit your needs despite t...

Re: Articles for standing requests released.

If there's another bulk order for energy, there's a good chance that you'll see your articles' status change to "waiting". That means they're included in the bulk order. If you don't see the status change, then you can submit them to the order. I'm wondering about the mobile phone standing...

Re: Is this going to be rejected

I'd switch from "one" to "you" right from the first line. "One" is much too formal for your topic, IMO.

Re: Regarding Standing Request

Neither of the above. It means that those topics are popular with buyers, CC needs more of them, and if you write on that topic, you're much more likely to sell your articles. The past few months there have been big bulk orders on articles about energy, mobile phones, credit cards and insurance, so ...

Thanks, that does help! I've submitted them as plain old .txt. They're just so...ugly. Ha!

question about .txt format

I'm writing some articles for a pool order requesting .txt format. I've sent a request for info, but I thought that I'd post here as well, since some of you may be working on the same order. Does submitting an article in .txt format mean plain old "text only", with no bold characters, form...

Re: Looking for Advice

For my first few articles, I waited until one was accepted before submitting another. I kept writing, but I held off on sending them off. Once you get the feel of things, you'll be more confident about submitting multiple articles.

As for pricing, I price my articles at around 9 cents per word.

Re: Energy Articles Needed

Thank you for the insight, Dan. I will continue to write and not worry about each order, but rather, step back and see the bigger picture. Happy writing! Let's hope these big orders continue, since they're good for everyone - CC, writers, and the buyer (obviously, since he keeps coming back for mor...
