Re: Waiting?
I have had this happen many times. It means they have paid with an e-cheque and it takes several days to clear. So, unless it doesn't clear, you've got a sale coming. Congrats.

Re: Review taking forever...
I don't know this for a fact, but I have the sneaking suspicion that the editors are doing private requests which is tying up their time. Whenever I see under "articles recently sold" a lot of private ones, it seems I'm also having to wait longer on my reviews.

Do I Need an MSWord Lesson?
A few times I have had articles bounce back due to not having hard returns. When I do numbered or bulleted lists and want new paragraphs under each number, or when I complete a bulleted list and want to be back at the margin I usually hit shift/enter and then another enter so that my next paragraph ...

Use of comma after Thus
I'm editing a scientific paper for someone. In some instances, the author used a comma after a sentence beginning Thus, and in other instances he had not. I did some research and am finding conflicting info. I usually put a comma, but this site offers this: COMMA USAGE: Use a comma after accordingly...

Re: Response to offer?
The pricing guidelines they have suggested here are very high compared to what I've found clients want to pay. I have mostly sold in the lower ranges. I've had low offers like you, but you can counter with $5 or $10 more and see how that goes. It worked for me once.

Re: Do You Dress for "Work?"
I have no problem writing in my bathrobe. I write when the spirit moves me. I often don't shower until noon or even later (before i have to pick up my kids). But sometimes I dress first thing. Depends on what else is going on because I have a few other things on the go. I'm interested to hear who ot...

Re: How to Sell More Articles
the article this post began with suggested to get lots of sales price full rights articles 15-30. Then it said to charge 6 - 9 cents. If I write a 700 word article, times 6 cents is $42 9 cents is $63. So this is a total contrdiction. I usually spend a lot of time researching, writing and editing an...

Re: Are authors protected from content theft?
I had read here to put in the entire piece as it would more likely be purchased. At first I was ok with that because I know I am able to rewrite my articles or break them into new ones easily. Maybe it was the "stealer" that wrote the advice about submitting the full piece, because I was d...

Re: Waiting 10 days for approval?
Here's my experience. In fact your article did get looked at in under 10 days but was rejected which means often that not only will the editor not proceed with other items in your review pile, but you lose your place in the queue. That is, unless it is written for a request which may bump it up. Rec...
