Re: Question
This is a good question. My answer would be to use the information in that link as guidelines, or basic information, about how to write good paragraphs. I wouldn't take it too literally, or use it mechanically. Most of the principles are good, but their execution is where you have some leeway. Also,...

Re: What is Wrong with this Sentence?
I'm not sure I agree, Celeste. A cost efficient way to have multiple articles online that contain links back to your site is to utilize one of the many websites that post articles for free." I don't see a problem with subject/verb agreement at all. The subject of the sentence is "A cost ef...

Re: Account suspended - what to do now?
Thomas, Sorry, but I have to say that it's clear from your post that you don't have a good command of written English. Sounds like you're not a native speaker. Running grammar and spell check isn't a reliable way to assess your writing -- this site is really for people who are completely comfortable...

Re: What is Wrong with this Sentence?
I'm with Celeste on this -- "utilize" for "use" is also one of my pet peeves. While it's true they're not perfect synonyms, there's rarely, if ever, a case where you couldn't use "use" in place of "utilize." (In fact, M-W gives "use" as a synonyn for...

Re: Question About Public Requests
You're welcome. Another aspect of submitting articles for public requests is that once an article is approved, it gets sent to the requester automatically -- you don't have to do anything. As long as you indicated on the submission page that the article was for the request, the rest gets taken care ...

Re: What is Wrong with this Sentence?
First -- yes! I hate "utilize" in place of "use." Second -- yes again. Joy: you are in fact saying "a way...is to utilize...." I like Celeste's solution, but if you want to include more explicit info in the sentence, how about "A cost-effective link-building strate...

Re: Question About Public Requests
It really isn't necessary to do that. Articles submitted for requests generally get reviewed very quickly . . . and everyone else's articles are going through the same review process, so everyone's in the same boat. Also, I don't think it accomplishes that much to contact the requester -- if they fi...

Re: Account suspended - what to do now?
Agreed. And as much as if I were posting on this topic I'd make sure there were no errors in my post, the kind of errors in the OP's posts would be enough for a rejection, but not necessarily a suspension. That's all I'm saying.

Re: Account suspended - what to do now?
Yes, absolutely, it's very easy to miss our own mistakes, and we all do it, at least occasionally. What's interesting in this case is that often when someone writes about being suspended, it's easy to tell from their posts that their writing isn't up to snuff. Minor errors aside, the OP's forum writ...

Re: Hello to all...
You're so right. When I first signed up here, I used a pen name because I was planning to write quick-and-dirty articles on probably trivial topics. But the first articles I ended up writing were on important medical issues and I worked very hard to make them informative and good. And since then, ex...
