Re: New type of article theft?
Awesome job, Constant! That had to be the speediest take down in history! Credit to Google alerts as well. Before I submit an article to CC, I choose two or three random phrases from the visible portion and set up Google alerts. That's how I found this guy. alerts.google.com Again, super duper job, ...

Re: New type of article theft?
He is SERIOUSLY going to town with this. He has posted 179 times, and each post appears to be a GROUP of articles for sale. 45 articles on self improvement, 24 articles on investments, 19 on fishkeeping, cars, dating, taxes, dogs, cats, and the list goes on. You name it, and he appears to be stealin...

Re: New type of article theft?
Ditto. I outed him in two different posts. He has several groupings of articles for sale on cars, taxes, gifts, cats, stocks, and investments. I found two more of mine for a total of three. I don't get the lack of conscience by so many people out there. Do they really not care that they are stealing...

New type of article theft?
Google alerts flagged this page, which just shows the titles. One of my titles is here, and the word count is exactly the same as the excerpt I've posted. So this person is attempting to resell articles but in a sneakier way. Apparently they are using software to "change" the articles to m...

Re: how does theft after sale work
No, but the same thing happened to me that happened to Jak. I only post 1/3 of the article in the summary, and yet had the FULL article stolen that had never been sold or posted anywhere. I often read of writers who sort of blow it off, established writers who make a living in spite of it. When you ...

Re: Theft Again
I had one stolen awhile back and I'd still like to know how it was done. I only post 1/3 of the article in the summary, so you HAVE to buy it to get the whole article. This particular article had not been sold, it was a virgin, not posted anywhere prior. Yet someone got ahold of the FULL article. I ...

Re: Can I use my rejected Article?
Celeste, As always, you are the wise one :-) That second article has been like a cork in the bottle that won't come out. Good suggestion to just open a different bottle :-) I've been writing like crazy, just not for here (and not articles). My fingers have been flying on the keyboard these past mont...

Re: Can I use my rejected Article?
With one exception, I've always reworked and resubmitted the articles. I figured if the editor was good enough to take their time and offer a comment, the least I could do is take my time and put their comment to good use as a "good faith effort" so to speak. That did come back to bite me ...

Re: Difficulty Resubmitting Article
With the new system, I tend to forget that you need to "Browse" before you "Upload" the file when resubmitting. Also, I discovered that if I change the summary, word count, pricing, and excerpt prior to attaching the new file, the word count, etc. all revert to the previous versi...

Re: the submission file
Yes, the file you attach (whether it be a .doc file, .txt file or .rtf file) should include the title of the article. Including your name or pen name is optional. For example:

Counting chickens can be difficult if they are free-ranging... blah blah blah

Re: How long does it take you to create an article?
Rarely less than two hours for me, including coming up with the keywords and summary. I've had a few go way over that, and I usually don't offer full rights when that happens. I couldn't charge enough to get my time back so I offer usage only. One took eight hours and another thirteen, so those are ...

Re: Can't Submit an Article
I looked through some of the FAQs and didn't find it, but I think you need to have 10 accepted before the limit goes away. I may be wrong, and it may have changed since I started.

Re: Can't Submit an Article
I believe that new submitters cannot have more than three articles in the pipeline at one time. Once you are established, the limit goes away. There's a learning curve to work with the editors here and it's not a good idea to have too many articles submitted until you've gotten the hang of what they...

Re: What is your CC "Eureka" moment?
I just achieved my 3rd Eureka moment. Number One was when my first article sold nearly a year and a half ago, the 2nd was when I reached the 60 article mark of articles accepted, and last week marked number three, a biggie! Someone who had bought an article from me in the past came back and bought t...

Re: three rejections on same article
It can be at the end. My articles are laid out as follows. That includes the line spacing. None have been rejected for the summary and keywords being included. Title Byline Article Three === signs (as a separater between the article and the added info) Word count: xxx (does not include keywords and ...
