Re: Weekend Reviews?
The editors are human and take weekends off Your article will be reviewed in the order it was received...so, not necessarily Monday if there are a lot of other articles in front of yours, but probably sometime early in the week. Congrats on your first acceptance!

Suggested change to Account Status page
On the Account Status page, under Authors You've Referred, it would be nice to add a column showing how many articles your referrees have written. Right now it only shows how much $$$ they've earned. It's just interesting to keep an eye on how many people actually write something after signing up (n...

Re: *Alert* Customer offer strategy...
Thanks for starting this thread, Zabrina. It is up to us to sell our work for the price we think is fair. The motivation of the buyer shouldn't be a factor, although I admit it's tempting to play the mind-reading game - "Well, maybe if I accept this offer, they'll come back for more..." Th...

Re: Is it okay to use similar titles?
What if you changed the perspective in each article? For example, say Things to Do in May includes "Take Part in Kite Flying Contest at X Park, time date etc", then Things to Do in Spring could say "May is the perfect time to fly a kite. Look for gatherings and contests blah blah blah...

Re: seasonal articles
Yeah, they do buy them in advance...and I wouldn't bother waiting to change the price. I mean, it took you the same amount of work to write - why give a discount? I'd change the price now to what you think it's worth; then the next time you have to think about it is when you get the sale notification.

Re: Greetings all!
Darn commas :) Hopefully it will be accepted all right this time around. No worries, even those of us who have been writing here for some time get an occasional rejection. In fact, I had TWO rejected yesterday, entirely because of sloppy proofreading on my part. Really ridiculous errors. I wa...

Re: Greetings all!
The eds do stop reading after spotting enough errors to warrant a rejection, so you should give the whole piece a thorough going-over before re-submitting. And no, they will never change a writer's work, no matter how minor the change. (This is actually a good thing!) The process can be frustrating ...

Re: Xomba Changes
Super helpful blog post - thanks JadeDragon. I signed up for Xomba a while back but never used it much. I don't think I will bother with it now, because based on the detailed comparisons you drew, there are places that are both more lucrative and have a more active writer's community (cough C-C coug...

Re: Wow my article sold fast!
I don't think there's a way to do it yourself. I know to change your author name you have to email Support, so I'd advise doing that in this case too. And I'm sure they can delete the customer account for you if you decide to do that. Just click on the "Contact" button in the blue tab at t...

Re: Wow my article sold fast!
If you want to see what customers see, you can actually sign up for a customer account as well as your author one. I did this and subscribed to several categories, and it was really helpful to see the emails that customers get. It made me take writing my short summaries a lot more seriously! Also, I...

Welcome Kathy! With your background & expertise in hypnotism I'm sure you will have no end of interesting topics to write about. As Hayley says, CC is a deliciously non-competitive community, so you can relax and enjoy your writing.

Re: Greetings all!
Welcome Matt! You have the right idea in your approach to CC - building up a portfolio, tracking your sales, and modifying your strategy as you go along - all key to success. I would just caution you not to submit too many articles at once until you've had one or two accepted. Once suspended, there'...

Re: Questions about Public Requests and Submissions
Gary, How do you know what to write? Here are some places I usually start: 1. Writing about what you know well Your hobbies, passions, expertise, job, habits. It doesn't have to be particularly technical either - if you're a chronic procrastinator you can write things like "Unexpected Benefits ...
