Re: Public Requests -- Are We Competing?
That's correct. But don't think of it so much as competing; if the original requester doesn't buy your article, someone else likely will. CC is a supportive, co-operative community - it's not like a bidding site.

Re: Intended type of license
Interesting idea. This actually has been discussed before but I can't find the thread. A few thoughts: Most buyers are looking for full rights. Adding an additional layer of complexity to the request forms might not be user-friendly. Also, new buyers simply may not know what the going rates are - co...

They will most likely email you back when they've made the change. It's not instant - someone has to do it manually.

Re: Unsure of "You", "Your" Usage- Newbie
Why "ruined"? Don't you still have a copy of the original draft? If they're different enough, you could even submit both and appeal to different customers.

That's easy: it's written in first person.

Re: REPEATED REJECTIONS
Yes, a reason for the rejection is always given. However, the eds will not go through and flag every minor error. The reason is likely to be something like "This article contains multiple grammar and spelling errors" or "The short summary does not comply with the regulations." CC...

Re: help-SEO optimization-how important is it?
Often buyers will specifically mention if they want SEO articles in their public requests. I usually don't bother too much with SEO when writing on spec, although I do keep it in mind. CC seems to be slanted more towards people who want well-written copy for their sites, rather than internet markete...

Re: REPEATED REJECTIONS
CC is not an article submission site. The quality control is much higher here than you are probably used to. Sorry to hear your account was suspended.

Re: Bullet points?
Instead of "insert symbol," use the automatic bulleting feature in Word. Should be in the menu, or else look under Formatting. That should make the bullets display correctly when you copy and paste.

Re: Two questions about writing for customers’ requests
Hi Chris, In my experience, articles that I write for public requests eventually sell to someone else even if the original requester doesn't pick them up. Also, even if the buyer says they only want one, they often buy more (or come back a few weeks later needing more). Since you've been having good...

Re: No Views on a Public Request
Well, the requester could be waiting until the request expires to look at any articles, or they may already have chosen another article. But once the request has expired, there's no way of re-submitting an article to it. Not knowing the requester's reasons, I'd just move on - someone else will buy y...

Re: Change in Offer
I've never had someone offer less than their first offer. Early in my CC days, I listed an article for oh I think $90 - someone offered me $50 - I was really tempted because I hadn't sold much yet, but I knew that their offer simply wouldn't justify the effort on my end. So I refused it, and a few w...
