warning to authors

When you're searching for article thefts, don't forget to search the first few words of your summary. Some thieves lift that as well. Great idea one of the posters here gave me: leave part of each paragraph off, using ellipses to indicate there's more. This means the thief would have to make up miss...

Re: How Can this Happen?

Does any one who actually works for CC or knows its workings intimately have any comments on this? Ed? Celeste? Do we have a hacker or what?

Re: How Can this Happen?

One of the participants here has a very good idea. The article is posted on the public site, but with the end of every paragraph missing. He or she uses ellipses (....) to show there's more to the paragraph than the poster can see. I'm going to do this from now on. I, too, prefer private clients, bu...

Re: how does theft after sale work

In my particular case, someone grabbed part of the article after I posted it but before it was sold. When the purchaser posted the article on his blog, someone called his attention to the fact that it was posted somewhere else. CC's system checks the article for originality when they post it, but if...

How Can this Happen?

I've seen several posts from people who say their entire article was stolen even though they only posted part of it. I can only see two ways this could happen: Someone is hacking CC's account, or someone within CC is taking the articles. The latter seems unlikely but if it's the former, can't someth...

Re: how does theft after sale work

That doesn't make sense unless some sort of loophole in CC's system allows them to grab the full file. Does anyone else know anything about how that could happen?

Re: how does theft after sale work

Using ellipsis marks to skip part of each paragraph is actually a great idea. If CC doesn't buy my outline proposal, I think I'll try that. Thank you!

Re: how does theft after sale work

My article was lifted by someone who writes for Triond and then posted to bizcovering. He is writing under the name hosenpas. I contacted both of Triond and bizcovering. Is there any more I can do? I wish I could get over this as easily as you did. Most of my articles cost over $100, because they re...

how does theft after sale work

Can someone please tell me what happens in this situation? I sold an article for fullrights. After the sale, the buyer discovered that part of the article had been stolen and posted on bizcovering.com. CC has already credited my account for the sale, but naturally the buyer is not happy. Does CC ref...

Renovation ideas

Here are some things I'd like to see on Constant Content: Better and more established writers cost the editors less time, but they pay the same commission as newbies. It would be nice to see some type of incentive discount or bonus pay for those with more articles or higher sales. It might motivate ...

Re: Low balling articles

Congratulations, Oxymoronica! Increasing your prices may very well have helped. Think about it. If you want to hire a writer, you want a pro who will make your site look good. What pro in his or her right mind would write for a couple dollars an hour? Makes you think they can't be much good. Persona...

problem submitting to a public request

I'm attempting to submit an article for a public request. The minute I click on Public Request, the submit button turns blank. If I try to click on it, nothing happens, even though all of the boxes are filled in and the proper public request is selected. Does anyone know what's going on?

book reviews

Has anyone had any luck with posting book reviews on cc? Had any luck selling reviews of older books, or only new releases? What about movies?

Re: Help!

Thanks, everybody. I think the problem is that it was just a note in my inbox. No, it's not the guy that everyone complains about.

Help!

I received a private request in my inbox today. I wrote an article for it, and attempted to submit it as a private request. But the system won't let me do it, and it says that no private requests are available. Does anyone know what's going on?
