Re: Great Time Waster

Yeah, I'd love to know how the site comes up with the authors. No matter what non-fiction sample I give them, they keep giving David Foster Wallace right back to me. But for my fiction, I get a different author every time. It's probably based on how long the sentences are or something. But I like to...

Great Time Waster

If anyone wants to procrastinate just a little bit longer, I found a great site - I'm kind of addicted to it. It's called I Write Like, at iwl.me, and it tells you which famous author you write like. It's probably not at all accurate, but it's fun to think that I write in a style similar to a famous...

Re: What is the highest amount an article has sold for on CC?

I sold one for $500 for a private request, but it was a beast of an article. If you're pricing all of your articles at $250, you'll have to wait quite a while before a sale - obviously, there are less buyers looking for articles priced $250+ and more buyers looking in the $20-40 range. So by all mea...

Yep, two spaces are also accepted. That's what I use - I'm a traditionalist.

Re: Please change from "waiting" to "sold"

A couple of months ago, I had the same problem. I emailed Support, and I received the same response from Basil - that sometimes Support used the waiting status to archive an article. I didn't really understand the point behind that - why wouldn't they just use the sold status to archive an article? ...

Re: Waiting for payment to drop ... imagine that!

I wouldn't write CC off completely. Unless my memory is completely shot, I think the last few months they've paid right on the 1st and the 15th, unless those days fall on a weekend or on a Canadian holiday. Happy Canada Day, everyone! And don't forget, it takes PayPal a few days to transfer your pay...

Re: How much are we worth?

That's why I think there should be a minimum price for offers. I hold nothing against writers who are just trying to make some money - who hasn't been there? But I think there should be some limits. Take minimum wage - if there were no minimum wage laws, you know some employers would be paying worke...

Re: Private request help

I had a client purchase an article two weeks after it was accepted. If I hadn't posted it in the private request category, it would have been available to everyone for sale, which defeats the purpose of a private request. So I'm with you, I think private requests should remain private - hint, hint, ...

Re: Question about review order

Don't forget, you shouldn't count weekends. Ed sometimes reviews articles on weekends, but he is human - I think  - so he does take some well-deserved time off.

Re: What is your CC "Eureka" moment?

WordCraft, think of it in terms of odds. There are thousands of articles for sale here - just say there are 5000. And you have five articles for sale. So the odds of someone coming along and buying your articles is 1:1000 - at least I think my math is right! I'm not saying that you won't sell those ...

Re: Private request help

When I have a private request, I always just submit it to the Private Request category. I believe we aren't supposed to use that category anymore, but I was always afraid that the article would go public, just as audrabianca said. At least the Private Request category hides articles from the general...

Email Support after a week - they can look into it for you. Now you just have six more days to go! Here's hoping they sell before then :D

Re: What is your CC "Eureka" moment?

Wouldn't it be great if the authors could see if an article is just in a cart or if it has been purchased? Instead of waiting, the status could read "Paid by echeck" or "Still in cart". There would be a lot less authors waiting on pins and needles - hint, hint, Support :D As for ...

I also just word count the body of the article, but I never round the number - I worked hard writing those three or four words
