Re: Applying for a Casting Call
I'm not sure what the best way to handle it is, but I would definitely not write up a whole sample article for them. That would be a waste of time and would give an unscrupulous customer the chance the steal the article and never pay anyone for the work they want.

Re: Keyword Phrases
You should be able to edit keywords after an article is accepted… I've always been able to do so, and when I just checked again, I was still able to. More generally, I don't think editors care at all what you put in the keyword section, so you might as well put whatever you think will help clients f...

Re: Well, that was a bit frustrating
The inconsistency between the different editors is what's frustrating. If there were more consistency then it would just be a matter of adjusting style to fit what CC wants. But some editors clearly have very different standards from others, so it kind of becomes a matter of hoping you get an editor...

Re: Resubmissions
Well, it is a little odd that the resubmission is still sitting there, since in my experience those are usually attended to quite quickly, but I wouldn't worry much. The wait times for the initial review can really vary a lot. I've had articles that weren't reviewed for two weeks, maybe even more. I...

Re: Issues adjusting license prices or adding keywords
Are you guys saying this applies to all articles…? Because I was definitely just able to change prices and add keywords to an unsold article. So reducing prices in the hopes of getting a sale should still be possible, I think.

Re: Why can't I delete an article with a sale?
What's weird about the price change thing is that you can't even change the price even if the first sale was for lower than is listed. I.e., I had one article listed for $50 for usage, but I accepted less when someone offered it. Nonetheless the price is still stuck at $50 for anyone else who comes ...

Re: Why can't I delete an article with a sale?
You can edit the price and the keywords after the article is accepted, and you can also change the category the article is posted in, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Re: Requested Article Prices
If it's a public request that would have a good chance of selling even once it goes to the general pool, I'll offer a hirer price if what's being asked for is too low. If they don't bite then no harm done, there's a decent chance it will sell someday anyway.

Re: Pool Request Articles Still in View Status
The same thing happened to me in the HP Restaurant pool but I emailed the client directly. I had a few that were sold and they still came up as claimed. I feel bad for those who wrote duplicates reviews and didn't get paid for them. :( I remember reading an email about the duplicates but I was paid...

Re: Improving A Poor Sales Rate
I have made it into the writing pools for two projects already, the WStreatment and restaurant HP ones, though both of those were quite low paying. I was wondering about those forums. I went to ask them a question about what I could upload to my portfolio and, while no actually answered my question,...

Re: Confusion about Restaurant Review public pool project
The last few times articles have been uploaded, there haven't been all that many of them (definitely not the 1000 that was supposedly coming through). It could just be a few authors knowing they can easily write these reviews quickly. I imagine some people could get them done very fast, especially s...

Re: Improving A Poor Sales Rate
Meant to post this weeks ago, but thank you very much to each person who replied. All the posts were very helpful and informative. Anyway, I'm going to start working at Elance. I'll still be around here but I can see that diversifying is a good idea. I can already tell Elance is going to be a big le...

Re: Pool Request Articles Still in View Status
Are articles like that supposed to be a guaranteed sale? A few months ago I claimed five short articles, of which only one the customer ever bought. The really frustrating part was that based on the hits, they never even bothered to look at three of them. They were at least generic enough that someo...

Re: Unresponsive HP RESTAURANT Team Leader
From what I gathered when I emailed CC about the duplicates I saw, it was probably a mistake on the requester's end. Of course it still should've been fixed, but I think the vast majority of them were, at least. I sold all 61 of the ones I wrote so I think you had terrible luck in having two out of ...

Re: Unresponsive HP RESTAURANT Team Leader
I think there's actually a good chance it was a duplicate, and a version of the article was already bought by someone else. A few weeks ago there were tons of duplicates, probably dozens of them (I think there might've been some other issues too). CC fixed them eventually but it's possible they miss...
