Re: Payment.. Just Checking :)
Me neither. Usually when this happens there's an explanation, like it's still the weekend or there's a Canadian holiday, but I don't think either of those applies here.

Re: Activate Best Offer?
When you go to submit an article, the "Best Offer" checkbox is still very much available. Maybe it's not doing anything, but it's definitely still appearing on the submission form.constant-content wrote:Hi, ScottBrodie. Unfortunately, the "Best Offer" is no longer an option.

Re: Adding Your Byline After Article Appears in Your Catalog
I do include a byline, and I know other author's do as well. I figure that if a client wants to delete it they can, but if they decide to leave it in, it's to my advantage to have my name on the piece. I don't think there's any disadvantage to adding a byline, especially since CC has now gotten rid ...

Re: No More Usage Rights on Constant Content?
I don't think this change will affect me much, since only a small fraction of my sales were for usage, but I'd still like to hear what the logic was behind a change like this.

Re: General Questions About Rejections
A couple days ago an article about "Bondage 101" showed up in the recent sales list. So I guess the editors must let stuff like that through sometimes, or at least they did at some point.

Re: Casting Call Review Times
I don't believe there is any way to determine that a decision has been made, unless you are the one who's actually chosen. Basically, I wouldn't expect to get any response at all for most casting calls. If I'm remembering correctly, most of the casting calls I've applied to haven't ever resulted in ...

Re: Question about traffic and sales
I sold more last month than I had in any other month yet this year, by a relatively large amount. This month, however, has so far been very dry. It seems to me like there's a lot of random variance in how much you sell over a single time period, and when individual articles sell.

Re: ANOTHER Flaky Client
Agreed, Abbamay, if they sorted out the line of communication with the writers, that could be the key to a better site in other ways as well. I would suggest it too except I'm not sure I have access to the survey...do you know where I could find it? And good luck from me too! They sent out a link t...

Re: ANOTHER Flaky Client
CC just sent out an email which includes a link to a short survey where we can give feedback on the future of the site. On it they ask 'What is one change you'd like to see from Constant Content?" so that could be an opportunity to try and get the private request system changed. Since they are ...

Re: Stay or Go?
I'm not British so I don't really have a horse in the race, but the EU does seem like a remarkably undemocratic institution. In any case the oddsmakers have 'stay' as having about 70% chance of winning right now, so things will probably go your way.

Re: Take a look?
It is too bad that the editors are inconsistent, and it's something CC should try to improve, but I would still say it's ultimately more of an annoyance and an inconvenience than anything else. Once you figure out what the editors are usually okay with, the vast majority of your articles should go t...

Re: Promoting Your Constant Content Portfolio - Yes or No?
Lysis, do you think your success on Upwork is because of the subjects you write on, or would people writing in other areas or on other topics be able to find similar success? Because presumably companies like Google and Adobe only want certain kinds of articles, so I'm wondering if the market in oth...

Re: Not receiving multiple customers' messages
It's a pretty big issue if this is happening… I have no idea if it's hit me or not, but there have been quite a number of times when I applied for a casting call and never received a reply back… I just assumed they were never interested, but now I guess it's possible the customers did respond, maybe...

Re: Repurposing Your Non-Sellers
Not sure how well my really old stuff would do though. I've been selling my older stuff recently. As a matter of fact, since I raised my rates to $99 for a 500 word article, $120 for 800-1000 and $155 for 1000 words, I've been making great money here with just a handful of sales. It's great. I'm th...
