Re: Writing CC Articles

It is. I just combed through three years of data, and I am a super part-time writer. Here is what I figured out about myself (keep in mind, my word counts and subject matters are pretty consistent per price point, 500 words is usually $15-$35, 1000 words is $50+) By Price Range: $15 average 14 days ...

Re: Grrrr @ Me! (Vent)

So my hotmail account decided to catch up with Google, um, about 5 years late. :) Anyone with a hotmail account can now create and save documents using an online app of Word. They also offer One Note, Excel and Power Point. You can download them in the Skydrive management area of all of your documen...

Re: Weird Email - I HATE this kind of thing

I love the:

"so be nice and pay and Ill show my loyalty."

Be nice and pay? What rock has this guy been living under? How on earth could I possibly think he would be loyal selling articles for $4. Sad part is there are probably people that take him up on his ridiculous offer.

Re: Taking a break from CC to work on my blog

Hi Antonia! Your blog is awesome! Where do you get pictures from? That's been the hardest part for me, finding images to go with the blog posts. I took a short hiatus from my blog to write for C-C, and a little bit of fiction writing. Right now, I am so focused on real life because my stepson is com...

Re: Great Time Waster

This is interesting. The piece I am writing that is Chick Lit from the male point of view? Mario Puzo, the guy who wrote the Godfather books that the movies are based on. That's promising, guess I did capture a male voice :) The Christian fiction piece I'm writing with a female voice? I write like S...

Re: Fiction

Okay, so my goal this year of expanding my writing abilities has had mixed success. I have tested out writing for and maintaining my own website, Life After High School (.info), and learned why webmasters buy content. It's takes a great deal of time to promote a website, maintain it, and write origi...

Re: Fiction

Or you could try some of the eBook publishing platforms. I know Amazon will take shorter pieces for the Kindle store. The pricing has to be pretty low, but I think I remember they are now giving half of the proceeds to the writer. $4 a download isn't much, unless you get 50-100 downloads. I know man...

Re: Purchase rating?

Hi Lydia, welcome to C-C! A purchase rating is the number of articles a buyer has purchased. So a request from a buyer with 49 as the purchase rating means he or she has purchased 49 licenses on C-C. Public requests are rarely a waste of time. Article that meet the site's writing guidelines are acce...

Re: Am I pricing this article too high?

It depends..... time-sensitive for the "year" as I call it sells here sometimes. For example, when Apple iPad came out, a number of iPad articles sold. Likewise, the digital TV conversion was a huge seller in its time. I also sold an article on the Blu-Ray vs. HD formats the day it came ou...

Re: word count

I just select the prose, word count it and round to the nearest 25. So 676 is 675. And 515 well, I'd probably round that down to 500. I like round numbers.

Re: Average number of hits before a sale?

Have you checked the keywords you have listed for each article? Really think outside the box and include as many search terms as you can think of that the buyer might use and would be happy to find your article. You might see more sales if your articles are easier to find. :) You could also select B...

Re: Is it worth it to do public requests?

Update your article keywords too, meaning the keywords in the C-C system that a customer may use to find the article. That keyword box is *very* valuable. I.e. you write an article on online banking, you might also include "online savings account" "online checking" "check bo...

Re: Plagiarism

That's not uncommon. As long as you aren't copying and pasting and changing like one word, you aren't plagairizing. For example: The sentence: "Open source software is a great cost-savings for businesses, organizations, and individuals." There are probably MANY sentences out there that are...

Re: Plagiarism

Can you chop and rework the information? Maybe in the year it's been out there is new research or statistics? I only say that because Constant-Content primarily works for original content, that is the audience primarily targeted as buyers. Even when you see Use licenses, it isn't THAT often they are...

Re: Submitting my first article

Sarah, Don't stress the rejections. Write your first article and set it aside for a day or two. Come back, print it out, take a red pen to it. Looking at your post you don't appear to be a strong candidate for rejection on the first submission. Many of us get rejections, even long time writers. Don'...
