Yep, Agreed!

I totally understand! Philosophically speaking I agree with the concept of anti-dumping laws. Dumping does create damage to various markets. When I first posted the question, I was somewhat bewildered by requests coming in. I was also puzzled by content that was already published on the site like: &...

My feeling was that I was misleading someone else. It was fiction, disguised as news, and I didn't want to do that. I too had the same feelings years ago, until I realized that it wasn't "news", it was marketing. The difference between the two is that one is data about a current event and...

Online encyclopedias fall short of being top notch

I wanted to put the word out to use caution when using online encyclopedias. I thought that encyclopedia.com and wikipedia encyclopedia was pretty good, until I started double checking some scientific data. Encylopedia.com was by far the worst. On a single page, I found more than 10 descriptions tha...

Images and Illustrations

Thanks very much for your response. I don't mind at all embedding images or playing with layouts. I conclude from your statement about resizing images is that all graphics are optimized for the web. That little tid bit of info is very helpful! I really appreciate the info!

Requesting a re-categorization within travel. Currently California and Massachussets is not categorized within the USA. Suggest categories should be Travel/(country)/ then the state level.

Thanks Chris!

Question Regarding Filenames

What is the maximum character length for filenames?
Are spaces, underscores_ and hyphens allowed?
What characters are not allowed?

I know, seems kind of silly, however, I do know that not all servers have the same capabilities so I felt the need to ask.

Incongruity on the New FAQ Regarding Full Rights

I thought that I should point out that the new check list for explaining what you can and cannot do with the content is conflicting with the 2nd to the last Question below it: Can I change the article so it looks like I wrote it? The checklist says you can take credit for writing the article, while ...

I've figured it out!

Uploading errors were apparently linked to file sizes. Images embedded into the documents were of print quality which increased the file size.

What is the maximum number of bytes allowed?

TIA!

Error Received When Uploading

I have been receiving errors when trying to submit articles. I realize the site has been going through some modifications as well as testing. The error that is received is within the upload file function. Articles are being listed within my content, however there are no files. This is with both brow...

Bundling Content

I'm curious if any contributors/authors have bundled multiple articles together and sold them as a package. Is this successful? Were they compressed into a zip file? I saw some references to series of articles and columns similiar a question and answer columns. I am curious as to how this works. Wou...

Questions Regarding Images/Illustrations in Articles

I would like some guidance on the topic of images/ illustrations in the articles. How many authors offer this? Do you embed the photos/illustrations in Word documents? Do you offer the images in HTML format and zip them? Are the images offered as web quality or print quality? Any and all comments on...

Dual Category Dilemma

I too was thinking about this topic. The dilemma that this creates is mind wrenching. This is a battle that every web directory and portal struggles with. Have you ever seen DMOZ.org the "open directory site"? Gets pretty confusing when you have millions of links under different mulitple c...
