Re: Public request closed
I think it's probably because they have enough articles. Few actually close the requests, so it's nice when one does do. Saves people from writing to a filled request.

Re: Bidding Sites?
Say goodbye to the bidding sites and hello to CC :) I remember many, many, many hours wasted looking for decent opportunities, writing proposals, selling my strengths, and being outbid by lowballers from third world countries despite their lack of English composition skills. I'd much rather write ar...

Re: Can I Submit Blog Posts As Articles?
BUT.... I don't see any "by so-and-so" attributed to any blog posts. CC has no real way of knowing if those blog posts belong to you. If your name or pen name is "Joe Blow" then you might want to go into your blog and add "By Joe Blow." Otherwise, at best your articles ...

Re: OK, more than three days have passed and ...
The three day exclusive review time is a courtesy to customers that request content. It gives them time to look at the submissions and make up their minds without worrying about someone else buying the articles before they have a chance to check them out. Before this was implemented, it wasn't unhea...

Re: Would more words for more money = mo' or no sales?
Imagine two writers being asked to write an article of about 1,000 words. Now imagine they both generate a first draft of 1200 words covering the same general material in a comparable manner. Writer A edits unnecessary words, cutting the word count down to 800 words without losing meaning. With room...

Re: Would more words for more money = mo' or no sales?
I advise against going over the word count just to get more money. A concise article is more valuable than one that rambles. Use your words wisely and you'll be able to get top dollar for them.

Re: So do they outsource editors here?
The AP Stylebook says: Decades - Use Arabic figures to indicate decades of history. Use an apostrophe to indicate numerals that are left out; show the plural by adding an s: the 1890s, the '90s, the Gay '90s, the 1920s, the mid-1930s. As far as the possessive goes, 1950's would indicate that the yea...

Re: Money, Time, or Articles Per Day?
I set a dollar figure per day. I look at how much I want to make per year and then divide that by 50 (this allows me two weeks of vacation). Once I know how much I need to make each week, I break that down into a daily figure. This has worked amazingly well since I first started doing it in 2006. Ea...

Re: What if the customer already purchased an article?
Hi Hannah, There's no reliable way to know if a customer has already purchased an article for a given request. However, public requests do have expiration dates with the default date being about a week (I think). They can choose longer dates or extend a request if they have larger requests or haven'...

Re: Writing content that sells
Public requests have been good for me. If they don't sell, then they go in the general catalog. I like writing for public requests because at least you know there's a customer right now wanting an article on the specified topic. If you have 10 or more articles accepted and an overall acceptance rate...

Re: Rejected
Hi, it means that the short summary cannot be an excerpt from the actual article such as the first paragraph. So, you have to write a few sentences summarizing the article for this section.

Don't delete it! Once it's approved, it will still be forwarded to the customer who may not even realize the request has expired.
