Re: Trouble Logging in?

I just tested mine. Safari had about a 20 second delay, but Firefox was nearly instant. I don't know if that's helpful, but thought I'd offer it, just in case.

Re: Comma Question

Your English is much better than that of many native speakers. The comma is problematic for us at times, too. Often, it is a matter of opinion or preference, so I wouldn't worry too much. I am not a grammar expert, but I would change the punctuation. You may want to wait for an editor or more experi...

Re: First Sold Content

I hope someone with more knowledge and experience will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that if you sell for full rights, you give up the right to claim it as your own. If you put a byline on it and sell for use or unique rights, then maybe you would be able to do this. It seems, though that ...

Re: Researching for an Article

Hi there. I write health articles. I have a subscription to MDConsult to access journal articles and medical textbooks and use this to a large extent. When using internet sources, I use google. In the search box, I type site:.edu or site:.gov, followed by my search terms. This will bring up only edu...

Re: Suggestion, maybe.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. It seemed safest to not include a byline but I just wondered what the 'rules' were regarding this matter. After being directed to the current guidelines and receiving an email reply from CC, it seems that removing the byline on a full rights license is a s...

Re: Suggestion, maybe.

Thank you Jellygator, that's exactly what I was wondering. It does make it sound like more of a suggestion "should remove byline", rather than a requirement, so no bylines for me. Too bad, as that would be a great way to get exposure -- get your name out there -- for a lot of people. CC- I...

Re: Suggestion, maybe.

Hmm... That might solve the problem if
1) it is true that the byline should be removed when an article is changed and
2) the customer actually does this.

Could we get clarification from staff? I will send a message to them, as well.

Thanks.

Re: Missing Customer?

I was wondering the same thing. I wrote an article for one of his requests that has been in 'review' for six days and now I see the request has disappeared. Hmmph, maybe someone else will want a 'sensational' article about viruses :)

Suggestion, maybe.

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered, but I can't quite find it. There are certain articles that I write using my expertise as an M.D. I would be happy and proud to put my name on the article and some customers might like to have that byline (in my past experience). If I did this, I could ...

Re: Unique vs. Full Rights

Thank you Celeste, for the helpful answers. I've been playing with pricing and sold one unique license for very little (with the thought that if it didn't go quickly, it might not go since it was related to current events- should have put a byline on it, but did not, etc.), but will now price unique...

Unique vs. Full Rights

I've read through the FAQ and forums and found some answers to my questions, but still have a few. 1). Is there an expiration on unique licenses? I don't think so, but I'm asking if the writer ever gets that article back to resell? It seems like you should, but it doesn't seem to be so from what I c...

Re: Good writing with little errors...

DavidFarrell, I wanted to apologize for taking over your thread. I hope that you have gotten good answers to your question, as I have nothing to add (newbie here). And thanks for the tips- I do appreciate it. I use grammarly (keeping in mind its limitations) sometimes when I've been 'too close' to a...

Thank you, Celeste - and nice to "meet" you. I have another project I'm finishing elsewhere, but can't wait to get some more articles into the system here. :!:

Re: What is your CC "Eureka" moment?

Yep, I think I just had mine, too. A week ago, I was frustrated trying to figure out how things worked and taking the word "rejected" too personally and thinking it meant my article was done for. I calmed down, learned that at this site rejection means- "do these things to fix it"...

Re: Good writing with little errors...

Lysis -- Thank you for your input. I get it, but respectfully disagree with your assumption about my ability to continue being a writer based on my distaste for a word. Just because I don't like the word 'rejection' doesn't necessarily mean that "writing is not my thing". I admitted that I...
