Re: fairly priced spec vs. underpriced team: which is better
Edits are sometimes helpful and sometimes over the top. To an extent, that's c'est la vie. I am not complaining for the sake of it. I really do appreciate this site and I think the way it is designed to work is very good, and makes for a lot of writer satisfaction compared to other models. I persona...

Re: fairly priced spec vs. underpriced team: which is better
Agreed, Gail Kavanagh. I would just like to add a request that, if and when the rules for claiming articles are updated, it results in a transparent process which is fully explained to writers. And I would really like to be reassured that there are measures in place to improve email response time. I...

Re: fairly priced spec vs. underpriced team: which is better
Hi Eric, thanks for responding! Would you be able to clarify the distinction between the 'writers pools' that are created by customers and the other writers' pools that you mention as also paying competitive rates, please. Could you also say whether there is a target response time for messages sent ...

Re: fairly priced spec vs. underpriced team: which is better
The latest pool I've seen has a few ethical issues for me, and the other articles published on the destination sites seem to have been written by mildly deranged robots into the bargain.....

Re: Corrections and time zones
I sometimes think that as well, but now it seems to be all the time
I used to be sure there was a really mean beast of an editor in Australia, swotting writers like flies.

Corrections and time zones
Has anyone noticed a link between extremely nit-picking edits and office hours in any particular time zone? Just wondering.

Re: Account permanently suspended
Moe in case you haven't noticed there is a thread above which includes this from RemoteRiverman 'Don't know about the 1-800 number, but their normal phone number is no secret - it's in the online Canada Yellow Pages: 250-298-6055. Why isn't their phone number on their website? Good question. It cert...

Re: Account permanently suspended
I don't actually know, but there have been posts on the forum referring to being reinstated after suspension, so it can't be impossible. The problem, as so often, is the lack of response from 'support' to most communications. It's a big problem with this site: I would say it's the main one, from a w...

Re: Requested Article Prices
You mean: is there any point in submitting an article to a public request with a higher price than the price on the request? I don't know! I have wondered sometimes if it would be worthwhile, but I doubt it. I wonder if anyone has any experience of this? The prices for public requests are usually mi...

Re: Offer offer offer... and no sales.
Its okay, my blood pressure has not reached anything like dangerous levels, 8) I am just slightly irritated . A contract under the general law is only an agreement consisting of an offer which is accepted, exactly as here. But that can be over-ridden by the parties' intentions as shown eg in the ter...

Re: A really stupid question
I think JD was asking whether you have to go back into the 'my content' section, and edit the price there for general customers. If I understand that question right, then I don't believe you have to do that. I think the article remains on sale at the original price to customers generally, and your a...

Re: Offer offer offer... and no sales.
I am now getting multiple offers from the same person, at the same price! It's a bit irritating thinking you have a new offer but then it's the same one from the same source at the same price as last month....I know I should get a life, but it is rather annoying seeing all the repeat offers in a col...

Re: Suspended, no reason given
I'm not sure I can be of help, but I see your post hasn't been answered by anyone else, so...There have been a lot of recent complaints on the forum about rejections for reasons that seem vague and unfair, and also suspensions. Whether there is a change in editorial staff or policy, or whether it's ...

Yes, this site is good in many ways, but communication is NOT a strong point.

Re: Accepted to Payment?
I think there may be confusion here. If a buyer makes a reduced offer for an article and you accept it, there is still no obligation on the buyer to go ahead and buy. Sometimes they don't. But there is nothing to lose by accepting an offer if you are happy with the amount, since the article will sta...
