Re: More stolen content

Like many Web writers, I've had lots of articles stolen, and I know how disheartening it can be. Unlike some writers on this site, I do not believe we should ever just accept this as part of the business of writing. Pursuing these matters aggressively is the only way to curb the problem, long term. ...

Re: My article has been stolen

Hi Again, Regarding Google, I believe those authors are referring to Google removing a site from their search engine, not the article from the site itself. In the past, it was not easy to get them to take such action, maybe this has improved. I also read, recently, that they are developing new polic...

Re: My article has been stolen

I feel your pain. You are right, you are on you own when it comes dealing with article theft. CC may send one e-mail to a site manager for you and will verify your original article posting date. That's pretty much all the help you'll receive. After dealing with dozens of article thefts and successfu...

This Site is Not Secure - Theft is Mounting

I have loved writing for constant-content for the last two years and have sold the majority of the articles that I have posted for sale here. Unfortunately, I must move away from this site until the theft problem is addressed by this administration. I have always experienced the occasional stolen ar...

Re: Usage License

Before I started selling for full rights only, I had this byline issue all the time. Now, I'm happy to sell one time, give up my byline and earn a fair payment for the work. CC is great at intervening, if you can stay vigilant and troll the Web for your articles. Joining copyscape has helped me and ...

Re: Resources on requests

If I use source quotes within my article text, I also list the full source at the end, since I often build a portion of my article around that person's book or research publication. When referring to a study, I will list the source of that study, if I use the information extensively. If it is just a...

Re: Resources on requests

Hi Courtney, I often just list the main site, rather than the specific page, but either one is fine. Most of my research comes from books, journals and other print sources which I do list in the traditional manner (title, author, date, publisher). One other point, I never list my sources in the arti...

Re: Resources on requests

Hi Courtney,

It is fine to list sources at the end of an article. I do it, frequently, for health-related articles. Just don't list live links. Omit http and www.

Re: Comma, or not?

Thanks for the link Michele. I think we are all paying more attention to commas these days, and this site is a good resource.

Re: Article Theft or Author Shenanigans?

Hi Michele, I posted a link to digital point in June, after I found that one of my CC articles had been stolen and then resold there to an unsuspecting customer. I suspect that there are other CC articles on there, as well. Here's my original post. http://www.constant-content.com/forum/viewtopic.php...

Garden Article Theft Alert!

Just wanted to post the site where I found my latest article theft (today). This thief has posted a good deal of content and may have stolen from other CC writers. I've posted a comment on the site, written the thief an e-mail and filed a DMCA claim. http://www.gardeningadviceguide.com/ e-mail conta...

Re: STOLEN Content Alert

Just an fyi, you can now file a DMCA via Google's e-mail format and you'll get a much quicker response.

Re: Still More Theft

Hi Michele, Just this morning, after I first posted to this thread, I found yet another theft!! That's 3 in less than 2 months. I love CC, but I was truly hoping for some new security measures when they implemented all of those changes this past spring. While I've been able to remove most of my stol...

Re: Still More Theft

I recently dealt with a particularly obnoxious site owner who wouldn't respond or remove my stolen article. I first filed a DMCA with Google, and they stripped the site of all ads. I then found the ISP (through dawhois.com) and filed a formal complaint with their infringment department. I just got w...

Re: STOLEN Content Alert

This can get really tricky, but if you or CC cannot get the site owner to respond, you can try contacting the ISP/domain server. They will advise you further.
