Re: jrichards, you friggin rock dude!

Hah, seconded! (Though possibly with slightly more British praise, such as 'Well old chap, I really think you're the bee's knees')

Love the new column showing the hits for all articles - I know we could see this before but so much easier now, and very interesting.

So, thanks!

Re: Does anyone use Bright Hub?

Thanks for the insider info bulletbutter, good to hear that it's successful for you! Thing is, I pulled in $100 from CC last month from selling fewer than 10 articles (I believe Bright Hub pay $10 per article), and without having to worry about SEO... which for me is a better way to write. However, ...

Re: Email Delays - Sold Notices

I LOVE that book. Apparently they're making it into a film... I'm not convinced! I think the book made me cry for about 4 hours non-stop!

Re: Does anyone use Bright Hub?

Hi Celeste I wrote for two requests last week, got the articles out and approved super quick, only to discover that the requests had gone, with apparently the requester not buying anything! Very irritating, especially as these were shorter 'blog' style pieces which don't tend to sell as well for me ...

Re: Does anyone use Bright Hub?

Thanks for all the info Lysis! That's the same as my experience with Bright Hub so far. I got accepted, and their 'personal finance' woman sends these generic (bossy) emails out. I sent her one back last night and I got a bit of a rude and unhelpful response so not sure I'm going to bother. I might ...

Does anyone use Bright Hub?

Hi everyone, I'm outside of the U.S. so I can't use a lot of other article sites like AC or (I think) e-how. I've not heard great things about Helium either. Has anyone written for Bright Hub at all? They seem to pay $10 for each accepted article, but I registered and had a look at the site and man ...

Re: Can we get an "Are You Kidding Me? Take a Hike" button?

I agree about the 'middle weekends seem the slowest' comment. Seems nothing much (and nothing of mine) has sold this week really. Is it always like this then at this time of the month? I hate seeing all those articles of mine just sat there.

Re: Wordiness, Revisited

The word I struggle with is 'also'. Ed you might laugh as my work still probably contains a lot of instances of 'also' but believe me, I take out about 5 every time I edit!

Re: Turning Life Into Writing

I love this idea. I think most of us do it naturally to a small extent, but I like the idea of turning it into a positive, helping others kind of idea. I'm working on a couple of articles which are quite personal to me, one about how to be a successful 'work from home couple' (my partner and I are b...

Re: Including both UK and US versions?

Hi Ed Thanks for this! Really appreciated... I do think it's worth a shot as I worry about alienating one side of the Atlantic sometimes when I write! In terms of time I really think it will depend on the article. For example, I wrote one about how to use the internet to plan your holiday. Here, all...

Including both UK and US versions?

I am British, but write my articles in both UK and US English depending on the article and what kind of market I think it might appeal to. Recently I've had a couple of articles that I think would work well with both, but obviously I can't post both articles up there under separate submissions, just...

Jak, you're completely right I hadn't thought of that! Must think more carefully about my titles before submitting in future... otherwise I'd be putting poor Ed through a few re-submissions!

Re: June 2009 Challenge: Tantalizing Titles - Who's in?

I accept too!!

Does anyone know the answer to the question I posted about titles on the suggestions/request forum - is there any way we can change titles once the article is submitted? Some of mine aren't as tantalizing as I would like!!

Editing Titles

Encouraged by the 'shining short summaries' challenge I have been through and buffed up several of my short summaries til I can see my face in them! Unfortunately, I think that some of my titles lack originality or a 'hook'. Would it be feasible to allow authors to amend their titles easily, using t...
