Re: Can this be a full time job?

Just to chime in on what Elizabeth was saying about smaller paying sites. I used to write for Helium, and have around 60 articles that pull in around $2 a month all together. This is partly because I didn't write to very popular topics (I hate having another 70 articles listed with mine) and I don't...

Re: A few suggestions for ConstantContent

Also writing for Helium and other sites I have to say that CC doesn't have a chip on its shoulder, it actually IS better. The standard of writing is very high, and the customer knows they will get value for their money. That's why they come here and are willing to pay us up to (and sometimes more th...

Re: Pricing of articles - Who is selling for $1 - $5?

Another string of articles sold for under $3.
Is this author totally unaware of the recommended sales prices? I'm sure they could be earning three times as much and still selling as regularly if they put the price up.

Re: Publishing AC content on CC

I too also started writing on Helium. While I was happy with what I wrote, I look back now and see my perfectly good articles buried under piles of opinion loaded, fact lacking, poorly written garbage by 'mass' writers. Contaminated by association. Does nothing for your reputation, I'm sure. Wish I'...

Re: How much should I charge?

Great advice from Hayley, as always. Only thing I would add is that you have to remember Full Rights isn't just selling the article, it's selling the right for the customer to reuse it, alter it, and even resell it, as many times as they like. It's ok to charge a bit more for full rights, given the ...

Profile Pages

I've just spent a few minutes wandering through the authors' profile pages, and noticed how much they vary. So this got me wondering... What tips do people have for making their profile pages help sell articles? Is it better to include a photo, or leave it blank? Do you use your profile to give the ...

Re: Please tell me a rich guy just bought a hundred articles...

Hey JRichards,

As far as feedback on the holding off of payment for a day or two idea, I'm all for it. I'd much rather get paid a couple of days later and have a secure site to work from that's not getting ripped off by scamsters; what's good for CC is good for the authors too.

Re: Pricing of articles - Who is selling for $1 - $5?

Just a quick message to say that it's all very well authors setting their own prices at reasonable levels, but perhaps CC needs some minimum pricing on the request side of things to stop customers requesting 500 words articles for $5 full rights and 1000 words for $10? That way authors have the opti...

Re: Is this worth it?

I think I'm writing to the same request at the moment. And you're right, $5 is a pittance for an article, especially for full rights and minus commission. On the other hand if you feel happy just throwing out a couple of quick articles for this price then that's all to the good. Personally I'm just ...

Promotion??

Hey Ed, Submitted an article about Interview Technique: Telephone Interviews and it got rejected for promotion. I'm sure there was none in the article, but in the description I may have said something about having other articles along the same theme. Does this count as promotion and is that why it w...

Tracing buyers

I've just had an article sell on a usage license (for the second time). Here's the CC article link http://www.constant-content.com/MoreDetails/71230-What_Makes_a_Woman_Sexy_.htm Interested to see who had bought it, and where it was being published, I googled it and was disturbed to find this:http://...

Re: Rejection: software problems?

Well as long as you don't mind the fact that they might come out as gibberish or blank I'll keep trying to resubmit then I guess. If anyone can suggest a reason or explanation I would be extremely grateful, and it would save Ed a bunch of time sending me rejection notices...

Rejection: software problems?

Several of the articles I've sent in recently have come back rejected with the explanation: "The file does not contain the document text. " This has never happened before and I was wondering if it was a software problem somewhere, maybe at my end, maybe at CC's? I write in Microsoft Works,...
