One week...

... and the client who requested the content in American History either hasn't returned or hasn't found anything he/she liked.

Chris - any way you can see if we either blew it content-wise or if she/he was a dud?

true - the client really needs to give more specific details or else the writers are just bouncing around the field, not sure what exactly is being asked for. myself, I get nervous when I see any blank fields... if the client can't fill out a form I wonder if he/she can build a webpage! ... or pay. ...

a "due by" date would be wonderful.

that way we could know if a client didn't find the articles acceptable for any reason and either rework them for more general usage.

I don't believe there is - usually I give it a week or two and assume that either the client has passed my article over or has disappeared from the scene without making any purchases.

*shrug*

thanks for the update - for me, if an article written directly to a request sits there for more than a few days and I see *NO* sales going out to that client I get rather suspicious...

Possible to list "dead" requests?

I was wondering if we could put a section aside or post when requests go "dead" - I just noticed the one asking for women's self-defence articles has disappeared from the requested content area and the client didn't buy a single article. Can we put up some sort of note when they're pulled ...

we've seen this problem before - if you check other entries by this person you'll see names down at the BOTTOM of the article giving credit at some times... this is a client, I believe, who's purchased articles in order to drive traffic to his/her site. BUT the website doesn't allow "submitted ...

Thank you Katie-Ann. Is anyone here pursuing book deals or does article writing encompass most of the freelance workload? I was curious since that is one area I'd love to explore but wonder about the potential. Best, Bill www.billtoonshere.com I'm actually a fiction writer with some published stori...

I'd probably feel more comfortable removing the exclusive option as well - just in case the client doesn't notice that it's been downloaded already.

It's the accomodating Canuck in me.

thanks!

regular sale vs exclusive...

just a quickie here - if an article has been sold as a regular, shouldn't the exclusive option be taken out? After all, why would I purchase exclusive rights after I know someone's already bought the article and placed it up on their site? They can't be forced to take it down and leave the exclusive...
