"Susanna and the Elders" and "Judith Slaying Holofernes" are compared with Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio and Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn´s interpretations of the same stories. The contrast of Gentileschi´s paintings with those of her male counterparts magnify the distinct feminine perspective of Artemisia Gentileschi´s paintings.
