questions about writer pools

I'm unclear about the writer pools and how they work. I'm approved for several writer pools in one topic area, but I have yet to see a single email. I asked support about it, and they said my category hadn't gotten any requests. I was told I have to apply individually to every category I want to be included in. I don't want to waste time applying to multiple topics that may not actually get any requests. Can anyone tell me what subject areas they've been getting writer pool requests for?

Also, I note that there is a separate pool for English. Since most of us write in English, do you still need to apply to that pool to be included in English language requests?

Finally, it says pool writers can claim public requests. If they do, does the request still remain public or does the author have an exclusive on it?

I've picked up a couple of good writers pool requests under "SEO Writing". I've also seen some in "Articles" and "Blog Posts".

I also had a good one in "UK".

Once you claim a writers pool request, it's yours - no-one else can see it.

Hope that helps,
Lynne
