Mistake in one of my articles

I noticed a factual error in one of my articles. What's the easiest way to fix it? Should I remove the article altogether, change it and resubmit it?

That's the only way to fix it. Put a note to the editors about your change in the short summary. Once it has been accepted, edit the short summary to remove the note.
