Need a good word processor

Post by cjgarrett »

I've had a few articles sent back due to bad formatting and spelling mistakes that the program missed. I was using Open Office, but the spellcheck didn't work properly, and since then I've been bouncing around through a few different programs.

Can someone give me the name of a good word processor with spellcheck and maybe grammar check that can format RTF files properly? And not MS Word. Anything but Word. ><

Much apologies to the CC team as well :( I think I'm in danger of being kicked off the site at this point, because I keep turning in stuff with mistakes.

I do hope you have overcome your problems with the Open Office program and no longer need this information. However, if you are still in need, here are a couple of links that may help with the dictionary in Open Office.

You may find an answer in the Aug. 26, 2010 post.
Also, there is a fairly good Wiki article on the Open Office dictionary;

I hope this is a help for this overall fine program.

It's a multiple step process, but there is a site called PaperRater (It will pop in Google). It allows you to paste your text into a browser window and then finds spelling mistakes, grammar problems, etc.
