WordCraft: When I first started submitting here,I only submitted one at a time for fear of the "3 Strikes and your out" rule. After awhile, you become comfortable with it as your submissions are accepted and you start submitting more. I am currently still fairly new here (only 52 articles), but I submitted 7 or 8 articles in one day Monday--the most I have ever submitted at once. All were accepted with no revisions. As you become more comfortable with the policies and formatting, etc. you should become more comfortable with submitting multiple articles at a time and expand your portfolio.

Pricing articles "high" isn't risky in my opinion. It shows that you understand that all articles are not created equally and that CC has many different clients with different wants, needs, and budgets. I've written and sold quite a few high priced articles purely on speculation - no public or private request. One was a $200 article about fitness. I posted it in anticipation of New Year's and it sold within a few days. Other higher priced articles have taken longer but eventually found their homes. A while back, we did a "premium content challenge." I'll see if I can find the link. . .

I agree on pricing articles high....price according to time input and value to a buyer. I only posted 5 articles and sold the first one last week at $100. That was my "eureka!"

What was your article on, Cheryl? I just sold an article on online education a few weeks ago for the same amount... my personal "Eureka" moment, I guess.

I've had it pretty good here at CC so far. I've only written 6-7 articles and have sold two of them for full rights at $50 and $100. Not bad! Just hard for me to find time to write.

Congratulations Cheryl and Amy! Those are great sales. May I ask the length of your $50 and $100 articles? I'm always trying to get a sense of what works in terms of pricing.

New CC "Eureka" moment! The articles I sold for $100 and over were great, but short lived. However, I just landed my first private request client! She hasn't sent a request yet, but a promise of much more work! Smaller pay per article, but continuous work I hope! I feel like I am (hopefully) on my way here at CC!

Congrats, April--getting a private client is huge! It's so nice to have that regular work coming in, and whenever you get bored with her stuff just write something on spec to mix it up.

Apologies everyone! I didn't return to the forum to see the query asking me the subject matter and length of my $100 article. It was 1200 words and was on the subject of Inappropriate Toileting in Cats.

I just had another offer of $100 for a new article (just a couple of days old) last night. That article is about 1500 words (I think, haven't checked the facts on this). I had priced it far higher than $100 so have rejected the offer as it took me a few hours to write and is quite a specialist piece, designed to educate businesses on using market research techniques. It will be interesting to see if I do manage to get the kind of price I am after or whether $100 is about the top given the economic climate!

Hi everyone. I would like to add my CC "Eureka" moment if I may? I have only been submitting to CC for a couple of months, and received a few revision emails for grammatical errors. After studying the wealth of information abundant in this forum, and brushing up on my grammar, I received my first acceptance on the 5th August. Not getting too excited, I then revised a few other articles and submitted them, and they were accepted too. The real moment for me came this morning. I woke up my laptop and checked my CC Inbox, and was greeted with a most wonderful sight, my very first sale. The icing on the cake for me was that it was a public request I would like to thank all the members here for helping a frustrated newbie achieve this goal, and of course, Ed, for being patient with me. I got there in the end. You are a wonderful bunch.

If I may celebrate for a moment, today is my "Eureka" moment. I sold my first article. (yay) But that's not the "Eureka" part. It was the fourth article I have submitted. After toiling for hours and hours with each of the first three (which I'm fine with), yesterday I wrote an article in under an hour. It was accepted in about an hour, and I got an offer (lowest of low offers) about 45 minutes later. All told, in just over 24 hours, that article went from just an idea to being up on a customer's website. Eureka! It is possible to make more than pennies per hour doing this!

Thanks for letting me spew my joy. I'm a little giddy because I've never gotten paid to write. Until today.

Thank you guys for being so active on these forums. This wealth of information here is really invaluable to newbies.
