May we have an update re. Payment Processor Issues?

Postby Words4Bread on Thu Jun 25, 2020 1:22 am

@constant-content Could we please have another update on the state of affairs with the payment processor? It seems to be dragging on an awful long time and the lack of information is worrying. Will the pay out at the beginning of July take place? It would also be useful to know if client-side transactions are going ahead normally. I wrote to support, but didn't get a reply. So, I'm trying here. I'm sure you are doing your best to get things back on the rails, but this poverty of communication only adds to the problems we writers face.

I'll link to a Reddit thread where a little more information has been posted (albeit not by anyone from Constant Content themselves). https://yb.reddit.com/r/freelanceWriter ... t_payment/

If you scroll down you'll see one user got an email with additional information. Apparently CC is in the process of integrating with a new payments processor but that process can take two to three weeks.

I received an update requesting my international SWIFT payment information after being advised that international writers can't receive payments via Stripe. I provided the information requested. I got no response from their 'support' staff and no payment. I still haven't been paid since June 2020.

My experience has been that support responds when they have an answer to your email. Sometimes, I never get a response, while other times, I get one days or weeks later. Hang in there. I know it is tough. My guess is that they still haven't figured out a solution for this problem. :(

I'm in Australia. I've been with CC for 8+ years. I also have several private clients in the US, Canada and the UK. Those that don't pay me via PayPal choose to pay me through Payoneer. Never had a problem with any other international client before now.

BUT.... with this particular platform, I'm still awaiting payments that have been accruing for some months. What's the real issue here??

I'm very frustrated with CC's support and decision to use TransferWise as payment service. My country (Venezuela) isn't in their supported countries list(https://transferwise.com/help/articles/ ... -i-send-to). Even if I created a fake address in another country they require local phone verification, which I'm obviously incapable of doing.

I doubt I'm the only writer here who can't access TransferWise payments. Yet, after discussing the matter with Miss Renee Layberry and another support worker, all I get is the same tired, "we're using TransferWise now. Sorry for the inconvenience" response. I'm sick of the situation. I just want to get my money and then pause all my articles on sale until CC can guarantee I'll be able to cash my earnings.

ConstantContent is little more than a sh*tshow. They are a totally laughable outfit who don't give a flying damn about their writers. A total bunch of f*ckwits.
