Bug with messaging system

I got an email from CC which was a notification that I had a message from a publisher. However when I logged in Igot (1) next to messages but clicking that link takes me to the public request page - now I can't even see the message because the publisher has taken down their public request. If I hadn't had notifications on I would never have seen the message!

Just bumping this one up - any ideas? I still see the (1) New Message but clicking only takes me to the public requested content page

the messaging system is really bad. In order to find a conversation I had with a requestor Ihave to scroll through all the public requests and try to remember which requestor it was in order to click the correct Q+A
