Submission to email request

A few weeks ago, I received an email from Constant Content requesting submissions for a new opportunity for a lifestyle/finance writer. I submitted a sample article prior to the deadline which was last Friday. I haven't gotten a response and I followed up a few days ago with no response either. Is this normal? Just wondering how long I should wait. I put a lot of effort on my article and if it is not accepted I would like to submit it as general content up for purchase.
