How to negotiate a price with a client

Post by squonk »

I received a price offer today. It was too low for me, so I rejected it, but I also wanted to tell the client that I'd be willing to drop the usage rights price provided he kept my byline in. But it seems like there's no way to send any kind of communication to the client unless he starts the conversation. Am I just missing something here? Thanks for the help.

No, you're not missing anything. There's no way to negotiate the price with buyers unless they initiate it. It's been suggested before to add a counter-offer functionality (and it was added for a brief, but it was removed). Perhaps you could try contacting CC and ask they contact the buyer and relay your counter-offer?
