Re: Must-Read Resources - New Authors: Start Here
No problem! I forgot to add that there is some article farmer that offers $8 for full rights to new content. He's done it to approximately 5 of my articles. Incidentally, 2 of them have sold for $40 and $50 respectively, so don't be afraid to reject ridiculously low offers even if you made no sales....

Re: Do you usually reject low offers?
Hi EMJames, I think there is an article farmer that goes through new content and offers $5-$8. He's done the same to me on several occasions.

Re: Must-Read Resources - New Authors: Start Here
Hi Jenny, I think we have spoken in PMs on DS! :D Just a couple of tips: A) read the guidelines. There is a specific format (single spaced, arial 12pt font). It will save yourself some rejections for dumb things like bad format. B) make sure you really proof and watch passive voice. Fix bad sentence...

Hi Jenny,
I'm a DS writer too, and CC is totally different. Write what you want, but the editor is more strict than DS copyeditors. There are no templates except proper grammar. :D It also helps to browse other articles.

Re: hit list
Thank you for the encouragement. It's hard to think your time is wasted, so perhaps sooooon it will sell. :D I'm not too worried, but I'll be really happy with that odd sale in my inbox. :D

Re: Constant-Content on USAToday.com website
This makes me happy! I want to see this site kill the competition, and in reality, this site is 1000% better than elance/rac/guru. The writing I've seen is awesome, and it's really interesting to read too. I'm really glad to see this site is moving up and created a good outlet for buyers and writers...

Re: hit list
Wow, Celeste you use a lot of keywords. I try to keep it at a minimum, but you're right about keeping a list of possible search terms. I was kinda being facetious about writing off my first few, but in the back of my mind I kinda have. I might rework them if I have some spare time, but even with rew...

Re: hit list
I've sold after one hit and I have the first few I wrote sitting at 50+ hits. The funny thing is that my sales are from higher priced articles with more word count. I'm writing off the first 10 or so as a learning experience of articles that probably won't sell.

Re: Recently Sold Content
i have another...ahem...brilliant (lol) idea.
Could we get totals on our "My Sales" screen? For instance, a total of the sales, and then a total of the amount - cc's cut? Maybe I missed it somewhere and it's already there.

Re: More Stolen Articles!!!
This is why I'm an avid reader of the Google Webmaster forums. I fully enjoy these people who come to the forums wondering why they've been de-indexed only to find that they have loads of stolen content. You can report it to Google too.

Question regarding public requests
again...lol Not to single annnnny jobs out, but sometimes requests come in way too low to what I charge per word. My question is - can I write under the word count requested for a job? Yeah, I know the client may reject or not buy it due to word count, but my thoughts are that I am willing to write ...

Re: How to approach writing several similar articles?
I've written on similar topics, but I don't like it because it gets boring and I think the writer starts to sound repetitive. Regardless, that's just me, and you may be able to do it. My suggestion is to not to take sentences from recent articles. If you want to write original content that is on a s...

Re: Tense Shift Within Sentences
Thank you, Ed. I know I have a problem with this sometimes. It's hard to find good grammar on the web, and I don't have my English textbooks anymore. I'm pissed at myself for selling back my old book!

Re: I need help with rejections
I read somewhere on here that it's all about improvement. When I first started, I received 3 rejections. So, I basically thought "Ok, what the hell am I doing wrong?" I wrote something I knew a lot about and I had an interest in, so it was accepted. I've had about 30 articles since then an...
