Re: Likely to Be Rejected for Formatting Issues?

As mentioned elsewhere in the forum, the 3 strikes rule is used at editors' discretion. Unless you keep on submitting in the worng format, I don't think you have something to worry about. I'm pretty certain I've had more than 3 rejections, and I'm still here! The first articles I submitted were load...

Re: The Writer/Editor Relationship

tm248, I don't disagree with what you say -not at all! It would be great if we all got to save some time and stress by avoidng multiple resubmissions. My point is that, more often than not, we can't change the way thngs work, and we have to try and make the most out of what's available.

Re: The Writer/Editor Relationship

If editors took the time to explain each and every mistake in each and every article they review, then waiting times would skyrocket unless the company doubled their number. Maybe that's the reason why things are the way they are. The point is that editors are not really here to edit -they are here ...

Re: The Writer/Editor Relationship

Hey all! I like the way things work here, and my experience with C-C editors has been positive since day one. When I first joined, I had only worked for those dreadful .50/ 100 words gigs and had no idea about self-editing whatsoever. Editors' comments were never too detailed, but they were concise ...

Re: Really Struggling

Thanks for the tips, Celeste! I might actually give that software a try once I get more comfortable with the whole idea. I still can't believe this actually works for me! :) Sarah, sorry to hear about your back. Sadly, it's a common problem for people working long hours on a computer. If you are use...

Re: Really Struggling

Ok guys and gals, pardon my enthusiasm, but I just had an epiphany and I felt I had to share it! You see, I tend to have too many thoughts at the same time and I usually forget them before I manage to get them on paper -or on a Word document, for that matter. To make things worse, I've always tried ...

Re: Taking the CC Plunge...

Hello Janet, and welcome! Just write good stuff and the sales will come. I joined CC in December and didn't write much during the first three months. When I picked up the pace a bit, I saw articles selling within days and, in some cases, hours! No need to worry about that. The forum is packed with u...

Re: Really Struggling

Good to hear that things are getting better for you Sarah! In fact, I had a great moment myself, making my first "big" sale -a 650ish article for $100- which gave me a big confidence boost! Other than that, I had one more sale at the $25 range, but I was a bit busy this month anyway. Now t...

Re: Very Low Traffic

Hi! I think hits don't matter that much in sales -it's a matter of the right customer coming by. I've had articles sell within the first 5 hits, and others that are still sitting in my portfolio with more than 30. The important thing is to keep writing and adding content to your portfolio to increas...

Re: Really Struggling

Haha! Sarah, if you find a way to fight procrastination, feel free to share it here! The only reason I'm all-in for Jacob's plan is that I -want to- believe that it will be easier for me to force myself to just sit down and write for two days (or whatever works) a week than doing it in daily b...

Re: Submitting an article

On the left-side panel, click "My Content". Your article should be there, in "review" status. If it's not, then you should probably submit it again.

Re: Really Struggling

Actually, the way you explain it makes even more sense because that way you can work really hard 1-2 days a week and then just enjoy your free time! That's a really really attractive option. :)

Re: Really Struggling

Wow Jacob, sounds like you have a solid plan there! Sadly, I couldn't come up with a plan like that if my life depended on it. I get so angry at myself for not being able to follow a friggin' plan. I've found that, on a good day, I can easily work out 2000 words. However, on my call-me-ADHD days, wh...

Re: New to CC! Frustrated with myself!

Hello Ami, and welcome! I would suggest that you practice as much as you can before submitting here on a regular basis. The fact that you already got one article accepted is encouraging, but if the editors see no improvement in your writing skills, they might as well ban you. Make sure that you work...

Re: Really Struggling

Hello Joy! Everyone is welcome and, I guess, everybody needs support sometimes, no matter how experienced s/he is. We all have our bad moments, and it's comforting to know that you're not the only one struggling. I think it's great that you keep your options open and try different things. For me, th...
