Make Sure Your Antivirus Program is Up To Date
Hi everyone... In the last few weeks I have been noticing a growing number of websites where the ads have embedded malware. I've even noticed them on sites such as Yahoo, JC Penny, and quite a few others. I've had to "fix" at least ten computers in the last week. The users weren't download...

Re: Alternatives to CC
Ironically, I have found several writing jobs on Craigslist listed in the gigs section. Still, they haven't paid nearly as well as CC (when I'm actually writing articles). I'd live to see the CC business model applied to a creative writing site. You might consider writing articles outside your norma...

Re: Bullet points - again
If I'm remembering correctly the first is correct. • Eat breakfast: By definition, breakfast breaks the fast of the previous night. Yet the proportion of Americans, both children and adults, who regularly eat breakfast has declined over recent decades, possibly as a result of our increasingly busy l...

Re: Site problems?
I just checked in IE9 and I get the same thing. No problems with Opera or Chrome. I would chalk it up to an IE incompatibility. The only advice I can give is to try another browser or upgrade to IE10 and see if that fixes it. Well, thanks for the advice. I refuse to use anything Google unless I abs...

Re: Site problems?
Sorry for bumping this old thread, but searching with various other strings didn't net me much. Basically, what's up with viewing the main site? Everything except the links on the left is loaded at the bottom of the page, buttons are hard to click, and other viewing problems. Is it that I use IE9? C...

Re: Fair Use When Quoting a Radio Program
What type of radio show are you trying to use? Fair Use has gotten trickier since the MDCA. I know that you can use a line or two from songs, and when quoting sources, without asking permission, but depending on the context and source you may have to ask for permission. Is that forty to fifty words ...

Re: Measurements?
I too have seen it done different ways Lori. It looks like you've got a few choices though. A lot of people do away with the quotation mark. I like them personally, but you get different editors and they always want their way. 4-1/2in. by 6-1/2in. up to 9-1/2in. by 11-1/4in. (with or without the per...

Re: Self-Editing for CC Success
For the most part, opinion pieces are not allowed on CC. I've always found this an interesting statement. Most articles written for online are based upon the opinion of the author, or the site which purchases the work. An editorial piece however, well, they are mostly pure opinion. I'm of the "...

Re: Who buys my article?
In addition to the previous responses, it's probably a good idea not to search for articles which have sold for full rights. Sure, it's nice to see them displayed, but you can't ever claim any kind of credit for them. I keep my searches limited to unique and usage sales. Those can be used in a write...

Jade, Antonia, April... Put the links for your various profiles up here, and I'll follow/fan you on the sites I'm a member of. I'll try to visit at least ten pages/articles a day. Reciprocation isn't mandatory, but would be greatly appreciated. I'm actually getting an accurate count on visits to my ...

Re: Xomba Changes
I need to find someplace to put articles that have already been published elsewhere. Primarily, articles that have sold on here for usage. Do you place previously published articles on Infobarrel and Triond? I put perviously published articles on HubPages . Triond and InfoBarrel only accept origina...

Re: Xomba Changes
I sent an email asking Xomba to axe my account. Too much trouble to play with it. I'm trying InfoBarrel, but only have a few articles up there so far. I have more success with Triond as far as AdSense goes. Triond also has the benefit of counting your visits once per day. If you're using AdSense tho...

Re: *Alert* Customer offer strategy...
I haven't read these forums described above, but I have received some low offers. Many of them I reject, but some I let go for the hell of it because the articles took me about ten to twenty minutes to write. There are times when it takes me longer to think of what to type into the short summary. Le...
