Re: Best-selling categories statistics

I suspect it is an outdated reference (although I could be wrong!) I collect data on what sells on CC, from the 'Writing Ideas' page and I haven't come across information that CC provides on the best selling categories. I do know that I periodically get an email from CC saying the categories that wi...

Re: How are your sales doing?

This is the number of public catalog articles being sold each day. It's not 100% accurate as there are pubic sales that don't appear on the writing ides page, but its a reasonable starting point.

How are your sales doing?

I know it's a quiet time of year on CC at the moment - Lots of people on vacation, and as you can see from the catalog sales that I've been tracking, overall purchases are on the low-ish side. http://i.imgur.com/mFPxUn9.jpg So, if you don't mind sharing, how have your sales been doing? I'm currently...

Re: What happened to assignments? Or is it just me?

The editors are also pretty much back on top of reviewing and accepting articles in a couple of days. I am guessing that the yahoo Voices crowd may have moved on! Either that or it's just quiet in general and people aren't submitting that many articles.

Re: What happened to assignments? Or is it just me?

Catalog sales are still ticking along; nothing enormously spectacular at the moment, but three or four a week.

Re: What happened to assignments? Or is it just me?

You guys want the 5000 word essay that's being outsourced from Elance from a guy who says he's not the student he's the outsourcer but you have to write to the student's specs? LOL Oh, and it's for $30. The business I help to run when not working here is a proofreading and editing agency - Yo...

Re: Data Analysis - Chances of Selling & How Much You Can Ma

Thanks for all your work on this, Paul - it's really excellent and useful. The statistic that would interest me the most is 'average money made per Public Request sale', and whether this has dropped (or risen) in the past 5 years. Though I have an 80% approval rate for my articles on Constant Conte...

Yahoo Voices and an Influx of New Content?

On other threads, it's been suggested that he recent shutdown of Yahoo Voices could lead to an influx of former YV writers submitting their content here. I've been tracking the inventory on CC for the last few weeks and thought it would be interesting over the next few weeks to see if a possible inf...

Re: Data Analysis - Chances of Selling & How Much You Can Ma

The site has changed significantly over time. The sales list is now headed catalogue sales and I assume that means it doesn't cover sales of requested content, either public or private. We used to be able to make decisions on whether to write for public requests by watching for sales that appear to...

Re: Rejection 'we accept only completely original content'

Yes, I've currently got 17 articles waiting for review; it will be interesting when I do an inventory count in a couple of weeks to see how much the inventory has grown (or not).

Re: Data Analysis - Chances of Selling & How Much You Can Ma

Yes, it's certainly *not* 100% accurate - Sometimes Constant Content doesn't update the list (I assume that it's a database glitch). However, I have now got data on 1,600 articles that have sold and $44,000 in license sales over the last few weeks, so I think it's a reasonable set of data to infer f...

Re: Operation 'Write for a New Car' is on!

Hi Laura, Best of luck to you! I've been pulling together some data on what's selling on CC at present, and you might find the output useful in terms of best selling categories etc. You can find an in-depth analysis here: https://www.constant-content.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=76741 and here:...

I always put a byline directly under the title, in the article itself, for example:
