Re: Newsy article rejected
Thanks for your reply and I can see from the examples you gave why my article was considered dated. However, I am confident that the article, which was sports related, would be of interest to certain buyers. I referred to league positions, and these will almost certainly change, but the key focus of...

Newsy article rejected
One of my articles was recently rejected for being newsy, and I was told not to re-submit because newsy articles are not accepted. Yet today's requests include the following: SEO newsy articles (news related only) On this topic, what exactly constitutes a newsy article? The one I submitted referred ...

Re: Rejection Question
You risk getting suspended if you keep repeating the same errors, which is almost guaranteed if you do not proofread. You should always run your spellcheck as well - that would have caught "selfsustaining."

In what context did you use "livestock" and "stock"?

Re: Open Office/Linux - Formatting and Fonts
I think it would be best for you to install TNR. This link shows how to do it in Ubuntu. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-install-microsoft-core-fonts-in-ubuntu-linux/ Also, if the feedback is only about the formatting does that mean the content was probably good enough? Or does it not mean anyth...

Re: What is wrong with this article? I need some feedback
Apart from the other errors already indicated: Guidelines say avoid using "one". First you use "one", then it becomes "your", and finally "I". Guidelines say avoid 1st person POV. momentum.Your - should be a space after the period. I drop the lemon in the garb...

Re: Is replying to a rejection notice of any use?
A 60% approval rate is required to be eligible for Writer Pools. It would be frustrating to fall below 60% when a rejection was based on an editor's misunderstanding. That's why I think it's important that CC should have a mechanism for reversing an editorial decision and the consequent hit on the w...

Re: Account Suspended
The standards at CC are incredibly high. Your article is riddled with errors, poor construction and meaningless phrases. I would suggest that you are unlikely to ever reach the required standard for CC, and think you should take iammyownboss's advice and concentrate on other sites. Please don't take...

Re: Is replying to a rejection notice of any use?
As I understand it, the problem with doing it that way is that the initial rejection will count against you in your writer stats.

Re: Is replying to a rejection notice of any use?
Hi Celeste, Thanks for your comprehensive reply. I had already resubmitted with your first recommended alternative, and the article has now been accepted. In Britain and Ireland, "low cloud" is synonymous with "low cloud cover" and, I think, most often used, with "cloud"...

Re: Is replying to a rejection notice of any use?
Wondering about whether or not it's a regional expression, I just did a quick search and here are just two examples from first page. The Uni of Washington in Seattle published this: "Subtropical Low Cloud Response to a Warmer Climate...". The Marine Meteorology Division at NRL in Californi...

Re: Is replying to a rejection notice of any use?
Thanks for the reply. I think it's clear that "low cloud" means low cloud cover, and that the expression is in common usage e.g. "The trip was abandoned because of low cloud". I believe "cover" is redundant, and I think it's highly unlikely that the average reader would...

Is replying to a rejection notice of any use?
Just wondering if it is a waste of time to use the Reply option when I receive a rejection notice. This was the suggested change: "Yet others have suffered because fog, or snow, or [a] low cloud has disorientated them. " In my opinion, the editor is wrong, and changing the sentence as advi...

Hi iammyownboss,
Thanks for the excellent explanation - crystal clear.
Makes me wonder why Writer Stats are not available for ALL writers.

Re: Questions about Writer Pools
Hi Evelyn, Thanks for the reply. I cannot see a writer's stats option, so I have to continue working in the dark (too much of CC is clouded in mystery), not knowing my percentage acceptance rate. With regard to getting edit-free submissions, right now that looks a bit optimistic. Some editing reject...
