Re: Request for copy editing?
Curios how this would work in case I ever see one. Is it like any other article on CC, you do the work and hope they buy it? Seems a little dicey with a re-write. With a normal request, if they don't buy it, you still have the option to sell it, but with this, especially 10,000 words, you are out of...

Re: Customer/Author Support
Or just fix the problem. I have 8 articles that have sitting in the ozone for 2 months.

Re: Customer/Author Support
This still appears to be a problem for me. Is everyone else still having a problem with articles being released from pools?

Re: Returns and Support Replies
Just did several searches using keywords, title words, etc. and it appears that none of these 8 articles have been placed back into the general pool. So not only was I not paid for the work, I can't sell them to someone else? I'll also contact Chris directly, but I need better support on this.

Do that all the time. Note, they will have to sign up for an account to look at the full preview or purchase the article, but I like to encourage potential clients to open an account here anyway.

Re: Do Author Bylines on Usage Only Articles Help/Hurt Sales
When I take the time to find online placement of usage only articles, they almost always have my byline, so it's never occurred to me to place it in the body of the article. Fortunately or unfortunately, most of my sales are full rights, so no byline and no 'tearsheets.'

Re: Returns and Support Replies
Yes, I got his reply. Don't know what happened the first time, but I appreciate the followup. Still no reason given other than 'he didn't want the articles.' I will definitely keep that customer name on my black list for any future requests. That was a lot of work in a short amount of time, to be gi...

Re: Returns and Support Replies
Well, I don't mind calling them out, since no one has bothered to get back to me. The customer was hello and the editor that never returned my email was Chris Reid - Web Content Specialist - Constant Content. Good luck

Returns and Support Replies
Was wondering what everyone's experience is with returned articles and how long it is taking recently to hear from support. In November, I got a private request from an editor to write 4 articles on a particular topic with a quick turnaround. I wrote all 4 and submitted them. They were all accepted ...

Thanks for the info and links. I will certainly give them another read before I submit the next article.
A link from one of the links: http://web.uvic.ca/~gkblank/wordiness.html is great. Thanks

Re: Different editors for different topics
One of this editor's pet peeves, in addition to 'wordiness' is the use of "there are." "There are many materials..." and "if there are more than two...", are two of the many sentences rejected by this editor. This sentence is awkward and wordy. not that I am one to jud...

Re: I've made an editor really mad :(
Okay, one down and one to go. Five "there are" eliminations and once where I used 'this' to refer to the subject of the previous sentence. This was frowned up.

Re: I've made an editor really mad :(
I've never seen the phrase commented on anywhere. If I recall, two of the rejected uses were, "There are two materials used..." and "If there are more than two ships..." Of course, I ca re-write both sentences and avoid the phrase, I just don't agree that it's necessary. Of cours...
