Re: Data Analysis - Chances of Selling & How Much You Can Ma

Laura - Yes, I seem to remember writing 10 articles on carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke detectors for this guy (and netting $325 for a day and a half's work). And thanks to this client, I now know more about energy-saving light bulbs and home insurance than I ever cared to... :) Cheers, Kevin Casey

Re: Data Analysis - Chances of Selling & How Much You Can Ma

Yes, those figures are helpful to know, Paul. Appreciate it!

Are these numbers the gross amounts, or the net after CC takes their 35%?

Cheers,

Re: Data Analysis - Chances of Selling & How Much You Can Ma

Thanks for all your work on this, Paul - it's really excellent and useful. The statistic that would interest me the most is 'average money made per Public Request sale', and whether this has dropped (or risen) in the past 5 years. Though I have an 80% approval rate for my articles on Constant Conten...

Re: How do you get approved for different writing positions?

Lysis – Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Lighten up, son. Firstly, one thread and one post in another thread hardly comprises ‘constant peddling’. Secondly, others on this site have read my book, enjoyed it, reviewed it favourably, got a lot out of it, and thanked me for pro...

Re: How do you get approved for different writing positions?

Abbamay's right. Writer Pool opportunities are more hit and miss than Public Requests, and aren't always available. So far, this year's pickings haven't been as prolific as 'the glory days' of Nov/Dec last year, when it was all happening. By the way (self-promotion alert!), for those who may not be ...

Re: How do you get approved for different writing positions?

Hi - Unless the requirements have changed recently, you're eligible to be invited to writer pool teams once you have a minimum of 10 articles approved on CC, plus an article approval rate of at least 60%. Then a new page will pop up on your My Account page, called 'Writer Pool Settings'. Then you ca...

Thanks Tayalltheway - you're absolutely right: they're two different clients. Let's hope the other one comes back to visit us soon....

Re: Articles under review for days

As recently as December last year, I was writing 10-article blocks of writer pool articles for this particular high-volume CC customer (the one who now offers 5 cents per word as his standard rate) for @ 8 cents a word, and making decent money. This year I no longer write for his requests at all. No...

Re: New Here: How do you stay organized with sales?

Same here. I go through Paypal at the end of the financial year to keep the tax vultures happy, and periodically check out what's sold and what's not on my 'My Content' page. I also keep a separate MS Excel page, which has all my monthly freelance writing profits listed (magazines, local non-CC clie...

Re: Articles under review for days

When authors (like Abbamay) stop writing for Public Requests altogether because of delayed edit times, I think this is a serious issue that CC needs to address. I just submitted an article a day and a half before the deadline, and three days later it's still under review. This didn't happen last yea...

Re: New book on writing for Constant Content

Forgot to mention that if you click on the Amazon link (in the first post), on the book page you'll see a photo of the book that says 'Look Inside'. If you click on that, it will show you the first few pages of the book (including the Introduction), as a brief sample that you can peruse for free. Al...

Re: New book on writing for Constant Content

Hi Lysis - I am indeed. And you were one of the most helpful people on this forum when I first started out - thanks! I started selling articles on CC at the beginning of November 2013. Unlike Celeste Stewart's excellent book on CC (which I also recommend), mine is not written from the standpoint of ...

New book on writing for Constant Content

Hope it's okay to post this here. I wasn't sure where to put it. There is a new eBook out, called 'The Freelance Writer's Guide to Making Money on Constant-Content.com - by Kevin Casey (full disclosure alert - that's me). It's for sale on Amazon, for Kindle e-readers and other devices. You should be...
