On CC payments.

For tax purposes, can someone please answer this question? Are CC payments "royalties" or "non-employee compensation"? I do not get a 1099 from them so I can't be sure. I know we write the articles, clients by them for different rights, and then CC pays us. Is that royalties like...

Re: Waiting article.

Hmm! Good points! OK, I'll wait. I just didn't want to miss the chance to sell to someone else who might buy it right away because the "buy" button seems unavailable when it is in "waiting " status. Think there will be more WordPress purchases in the future? I saw a bunch of such...

Waiting article.

Hi. I have an article that has been on "waiting" status for several days now. I read somewhere this means a potential buyer left it in their cart. What should I do? Do I let it sit there or ask tech support to "unfreeze" it? :?:

Re: How do we report CC income?

Thanks everybody. :) I think I will report it as non-employee comp too.

Some countries have little to no Internet regulations. Lucky for them!

Re: "We no longer accept lists"

Probably because lists are so much easier to write and/or copy from somewhere else. I know. I do a lot of list articles and it's annoying to force myself to add explanations even when they aren't needed. (Some items are self-explanatory, you know?) But look at it from CC's point of view: If they all...

Articles Written, Drafts and Searches

Dear CC, Please keep an author's draft articles separate from his/her total "articles written" count as shown in "My Profile." Right now they seem to be added together. It makes those of us who save multiple drafts look like we selling poorly! Also, is it possible to separate aut...

Re: Rejected...with no errors?

I had one rejection like that. The editor/reviewer said one sentence was weak and they explained why. I don't think it was such a bad thing. The editor just wanted me to choose my words more carefully. I did and it passed no problem. Personally, I prefer that kind of rewrite request to "You for...

How do we report CC income?

OK, so CC is a Canadian company and we aren't getting any 1099's from them. But how do we report our income? Do we say it's royalties or non-employee compensation? What's everybody been doing? :?:

Re: Astrology Articles?

I've seen astrology, New Age and spirituality articles sell. But don't expect to be able to price them as high as articles that have a high demand (business, finance, insurance). I'm fine with that because if I write about something I'm familiar with, it takes me less work to write it. So I end up g...

Re: Paranoid Newbie Wants to Play It Safe

As I recall, there's a limit to how many you can upload when you're new, anyway. My advice is that you go ahead and write the articles - but don't upload them all just yet. Wait until your first submissions get reviewed. That way, you get a feel for how things work out, what the standards are and wh...

Oh, my bad. Thanks, everyone!

I keep emails of payment notifications. I guess that will do. I'll also get my PayPal statements!

Hope you all had a happy holiday!

Re: Standing Request - Spirituality Content

Thanks, Emily! I could write a BUNCH of stuff that can be labeled "spirituality" but it'd be nice if they were more specific!
